bittorrent trackers are centralized and easy to shut down. The first wave of main index sites are all gone. I especially miss tvtorrents. Also if you live in the USA you should be aware that the MPAA is actively harvesting IPs from active torrents, if you care about that sort of thing. |

It's a relatively new p2p distribution system. It penalizes leeches and freeloaders so it has very fast download speeds. But if it weren't for those speeds, I don't think it would be very popular because it isn't really a good system for everyday p2p. There is no global searching and the trackers seem to be killed very quickly through legal action or lack of bandwidth. |
