how is this done? does the original painter lend the
remixer his paints that he used for the orginal? or does he
like tell him how he was feeling, what he was thinking, what
his idea was?

make a high resolution print of the painting to be remixed
and go in with various photoshop selectors and bust that
painting up into layers. Then fuck with the layers to your
liking and you got a remix.

Going by the quality of the average house mix of most pop
music...familiar paintings should have a grid drwan on them
and have alternate grids painted black...much like a
chessboard.

A remix like what AFX did for the Lemonheads would involve
sleeping all day and waking up, pissing on a piece of paper
and shipping off the yellow stained paper to the art
gallery.

So I guess, you could say it runs the gamut.

yesterday i photoshopped the wave from the fuji sight series
of hokusai to make the boats disappear, and then i tried to
replace them by paper boats but i didn't find any pic of
paper boats that fit...

(it was for an album cover - bah, i don't care anyway i
still don't have a printer =))

man

i was so high last night

i tried to make a remix of my avatar, where it stops and
says REMIX! on it, and then there's these colorful dots that
bounce around like we're at some kind of tekno party.

it was too big though :'(
