this album is so beautiful...i cant get enough of it i havent heard anything comparable (and im searching hard) - no need to sound alike, all i want is something as unique as this (bilious paths and go plastic come close but not quite there)
i found some pretty unique albums...but i'd like to make sure im not missing anything, so i'd really like to see some recommendations of what you see as unique album

I was going to say that, didn't want to be boring though.
I Care Because You Do though is very unique. Couldn't have been done by anyone else. Except for the track Cow Cud Is a Twin. That could've been. Apart from that the album is overflowing with that Aphexness.

hmm, boc are ok, but something a bit more interesting would be nice - something that occupies your brain while listening, boc are more like music to relax to
here are some others i enjoy, but are not close to drukqs: -anything by jan jelinek -anything by susumu yokota -dolls dolls dolls -find candace -anything by tim hecker -aileron by rotor+ ...
confield and i care because you do are both very nice, but so is almost evrything by aphex - still not close to drukqs tho (for my likings that is)

I have to say I find Autechre generally boring (except incanabula & some early stuff) and BoC painfully pleasant... (ie utterly unchallenging and dull)
Thats why I don't mind when AFX goes off on one, at least its not just the same old same old...
(sorry Ae luvvaz, don't mind me!)

The Isness is completely different from other FSOL. i love it, not everyone's taste though - you have to like psychedelic stuff and cithars i guess... =)
maybe you can try John Zorn - Naked City. avant-garde experimental free jazz with some grindcore!
i also think some 80's Einstürzende Neubauten have a unique feeling to it, but i'm not sure! tracks 'Zerstoerte Zelle', 'Yü-Gung', album Zeichnungen Des Patienten O.T....
(BoC, unique? chilled out tracks aren't that rare - and they aren't even the best at it, have you heard Fahrenheit Fair Enoug by Telefon Tel Aviv? Dismantling Five Years by Venetian Snares (though this one i'd say isn't better as BoC, but still very similar)? the whole album Fyuti by Bola? =P)

evolume > i have koss porta pro headphones, i guess they're quite good! i'm satisfied with them anyway. it didn't melt my skull, it is pleasant and sometimes very pleasant to listen to but in no way astonishing... ' _ '
(i always bash BoC, not because i don't like them, but because i think they do not deserve all the praise they get compared to other artists, less well known and imo better!)
tolstoyed > yeah but i was just mentioning TTV and Bola because they are similar to BoC, as examples for my point of view (which is that BoC isn't unique)... i don't think TTV nor Bola are very unique! (though TTV has a little bit of uniqueness maybe) =)

heh i've already had this discussion in other 'isness' threads. i'm glad that people like you enjoy it. i just cannot. Though it is a technically well produced album, i just can't stand it. personal preference. check this thread if you have any interest in people's opinion of this album, including mine, if you care.
