since i have a small question to ask, that doesn't really
warrant a whole thread to itself, i thought why not declare
this the "question and answer" topic for one off questions
that will probably be simply answered?

if you are quoting someone using a grammatical error, you
put that in there as a notation of the error.. so you won't
be misquoting
