Best Band in the World?

offline alnuit on 2003-06-24 22:28 [#00755860]

Radiohead

My Bloody Valentine (even if they haven't released anything
in the past efw years, they are still around...)

Spiritualized (prefer them to G!YBE)

Up until 6 months ago I would have added Massive and
Underworld here, not anymore though.

radiohead, tortoise, the roots, sonic youth, mogwai, tool.
godspeed's more of a loose collective revolving around
efrim, though the lineup's been static for a few years now.

I was under the impression that Out of Season was a
collaboration with Rustin Man, not Beth's solo record...?

Anyways, even though it's a one woman show, she's got the
band "sound." My award goes to PJ Harvey (yeah what were you
guys expecting?)...one of the only artists to get better
with each release!

If I'm stuck with picking an actual band, i'd say that Sigur
Ros has the most potential, if they would only spice it up a
bit with something different (for example, they could try a
tempo other than largo, or even turn off the reverb for five
minutes).

themselves ''The World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band'' for
nothing. Do they?

yeah that's true. It's Beth Gibbons collaborating with
Rustin Man. But i think she wrote all the songs and Rustin
Man helped her out with the composion. I sort of see it as
her solo album in that way
