Produced out of sequence over a period of eight years,
visual artist Matthew Barney's widely hailed The Cremaster
Cycle will arrive onto DVD on September 16th. The films,
which just ended an exhibition at New York's Guggenheim
Museum, are a group of five cryptic works which explore the
evolution of form through fantastical allegories and
metaphors encompassing biology, classic mythology, religion
and Hollywood culture. The Cremaster Cycle will be released
by Palm Pictures with disc specs to be announced. In the
meantime, you can watch a trailer for the series here.

Everywhere I hope.

It should be the law for all children to watch the cycle
once per day from the age of 2 - 10.

What a lovely generation that would produce.

i saw cremaster 3 sunday. fucking amazing. LOTR meets
eraserhead meets texas chainsaw massacre meets baraka, times
10. a must-see film and i can't wait to own all 189 minutes
of it on dvd.

I've seen all of them except the newest one. I bet the DVD
set is going to be SUPER SUPER EXPENSIVE since MAtthew
Barney needs to support the posh celebrity life he's created
for himself.

i just finished seeing them all. i saw cremaster3 first
then 1 and 2 together followed by 4 and 5 together. I liked
2 and 5 the best followed by 3, and 1 and 4 tied for the
least good. I did not like The Order in cremaster 3 very
much at all and thought it kind of ruined cremaster 3;
agnostic front(why the hell would you put punk bands in a
movie let alone shitty ones...just seemed poorly executed i
thought)

overall, 2 and 5 are simply incredible. I heard that only
The Order would be on DVD, are you sure all of them will be?
Im not sure that I would buy them but they are all worth
seeing at least once just for the experience.

i don't think he was putting Agnostic Front and Murphy's Law
(did i get that name right?) in there as a compilemt to
their music

The Order, was that the second half of the film, taking
place in the Gugenheim? i thought that was cool, but not
half as cool as the first half, taking place supposedly in
the Chrysler Building. truly surreal scenes in there, some
clearly inspired by Kubrick and Lynch.

seeing them once is enough

especially Cremaster 4. long, badly edited (maybe on purpose
who knows?), really loud irritating score of bagpipes, ugly
naked women, and lots of balls

well......i've not seen the whole series, tho i would like
to, ONLY to complete the experience.

saying it was cryptic kinda explains my
reaction.....nonsensical is another good word that comes
(sic) to mind. heheeheh

i really disliked Cremaster I, part II was much better and
thought provoking.

i'm glad it's catagorized as an ART film, i wondered if the
others in the theatre that day knew......ahhah there was
this couple in their 70's that looked like they were on an
alien planet afterwards, i don't recall any patrons saying
much of anything......ahhahahhah

well i ordered what was said to be Cremaster 3 on dvd for a
little under $19.

what i got was just THE ORDER from the movie with a whole
lot of extras, like multiangle shots, 10 remixes of the
hardcore bands in the sequence, trailer..

what a rip-off tho, they should've indicated it's just a
PART of the film, which is 180 minutes. this is 31 minutes
of the damn thing. i'm going to keep it because as far as i
can tell these films aren't being released on DVD after all.

hmm, i rented the order dvd a few weeks ago, and got the
impression from the previews that the others were going to
be released at some point also. i hope they are, they looked
a little better than 'the order'.
