so i FINALLY saw it and it was sooooo good.. i had expected the film be completely different. i had expected a much colder and sci.fi-ish film.
donnie really appealed to me as i too eat medics and go to therapy (but do not see bunnies) and the whole concept of the film was great..
i cried my eyes out after the film and my bf was like wtf again.. but DONNIE DARKO WAS JUST SO GOOD!

i just thought that. a directors cut of that film would rule since there are things in it that should have been focused more on.

my parents are open minded. i got my dad to watch waking life after i saw it and he thought it was really really cool
i also got him to watch donnie darko and while it didn't blow him away, he was pretty interested in it and thought it was better than most of the hollywood movies where it's all set out neatly and obviously for you (ie there's a bad guy, a good guy, a main conflict and a resolution etc etc)
my mum slept through it but she always falls asleep in movies, haha
