Photek's stuff pre-Solaris is pretty interesting. I also like Source Direct's "Exorcise The Demons" LP. Very mean sounding d&b.

Photek has some good stuff but I heard one album of his and it sounded really different .. not DnB at all. It sounded more euro-tech or something although I only listened to it once or twice.
For a genre with as many sub-genres as DnB has it still feels largely like a genre in a box, or fresh out of one for that matter. There are a few innovators but a lot of times it is the same old same old. However, if there are artists out there pushing the envelope more I would like to hear them.

I have to be the only person on the planet who loves Solaris. Except the horrid tracks with Robert Owens, I liked pretty much the whole thing.
Modus Operandi is my favourite of his, though.

very clever - when i meant best - i meant better in every respect than all other names that have gone before in this particular thread....
usually...thats what BEST means.
you get what i'm on about?

I agree he is better than most of the people who have been mentioned in this thread. I have a lot of his stuff on vinyl from back in the day. But innovation and BEST are two very different things. I still wouldn't class him as an innovator, just a fucking shit hot producer :P

It is funny the way that because I have a different opinion than you that I am wrong...since when did you opinion on something because the only opinion there is?
I honestly wasn't trying to spark an arguement or anything, I was just stating my opinion.
How can you class Panacea as an innovator he ripped the No U Turn sound completely for Lo Profile Darkness, which although a decent album was cheesy beyond beleif :D

this is what i meant before when i said 'losers'.....not meaning to cause offense (please nobody take it the wrong way.... perhaps i use such harsh words as i am in a state of shock)....
...Andy C is totally....and i mean TOTALLY shit. he makes crap music for the masses for the sake of a guaranteed wad of cash.
