go on, more!

i love freebie samplers too, sometimes there's good stuff on
those. i got one from virgin record stores in nyc times
square this weekend and it has the specials "a message to
you rudy", bowie "heroes", buzzcocks "ever fallen in love?",
omd "if you leave", and more on it.

dunno what signalflow is..

your avatar is great mimi.. did you make that or did you
find it somewhere?

anyone ever hear a compilation--besides something made on
the internet--where artists take turns with the same source
material (eg: thurston moore's root) or start a chain
of remixes? how are these comps generally?

radiohead need to start contributing to more comps like they
did in the mid-90s if they have so many unreleased tracks
(and i believe they do) and care so much about certain
causes and charities.

signalflow is a toytronic records comp.

my avatar was pieced together by myself, but it consists of
a press photo of the band chemlab and the text of a tshirt
they used to sell which i am lucky enough to have snatched
up on ebay.

Chemlab's pretty good.

at the moment...

Hexstatic Listen & Learn (ninjatune)
Funk On Film (70s Soundtrack Funk)
Leaf Label, Lost For Words
Artificial Intelligence 2 (always will be a classic)
Rapid Transit (Urban Renewal was good, but i prefer this one
over it)

agreed on the urban renewal comp
the track with miho hatori and prefuse is among the best
he's done, methinks.

i just got the lexoleum comp the other day.. havent had a
chance to listen to the whole thing yet but it sounds lush
so far..i really like the track by subtle (band with jel,
doseone+others)
theres also some nice stuff by boom bip, kid acne+req and
mummy fortuna's theatre company.

morr music's 'blue skied an' clear' comp is nice if youre
into that sort of thing.. i was listening to that one
constantly a few months ago.

i found a compilation from ghostly international today that
looks interesting.. a bunch of tracks by dabrye, a remix of
dabrye by prefuse.. i think telefon tel aviv have something
on there

i found a copy of schematic's 'lily of the valley' comp at
the store too.. 've been meaning to pick that up too... it
better not be boring.

one

oh, definitely do.. if you like the urban renewal comp
you'll like this one too, i would think.

i think once lex gets going, it will be quite an interesting
label.

correct me if i am mistaken but i believe the inferno is
21+, and i can't quite meet that requirement for a few more
years.

venetian snares played there once though. not much else.

Yes, that used to be my favorite compilation. Wild
Planet
was pretty good too, but nowhere near as good as
Paradigm.

Mimi: Yes, 21+

i just ordered the fatcat comp Branches & Routes for
under $12 w/ discount (2 discs!) .. i can't wait to hear it
track listing, review, and link to buy

i also finally got around to listening to dj muggs'
classic mixtape vol. 1, which is all his mashups of
hip-hop vocals and classic rock instrumentals.. it's really
fun. track listing:

01 ³ Intro

02 ³ Rush vs. Ghostface Killa vs. Joi

03 ³ Dr Dre & B Real vs. Black Sabbath

04 ³ The Doors vs. Audio Two

05 ³ John Lennon vs. Inspecta Deck

06 ³ Baberian Interlude

07 ³ Eagles vs. Kool Keith

08 ³ KRS One vs. Lenny Kravitz

09 ³ Nas vs. Heart Intro

10 ³ Nas vs. Heart

11 ³ Public Enemy vs. Red Hot Chili Peppers

12 ³ John Lennon vs. Soul Assassins

13 ³ Jimi Hendrix vs. Kurupt & Rosco

14 ³ Xzibit & King Tee

15 ³ Rolling Stones vs. Snoop

16 ³ Wu Tang vs. Blondie

17 ³ Pink Floyd vs. Everlast

18 ³ Janis Joplin vs. Soul Asassins

it's really crazy but it works
