... in terms of reliability, that is...

bloody thing is always down.. really.. and even when it's up
it takes multiple attempts before i get connected - but
there again this might just be a peculiarity with pyslsk..

soulseek aint shit... on my pc that is

it seems it wont run on some computers at all, while it
crashes sometime at others or runs perfectly fine...

my guess is that its just coded sloppy.. thank god it works
fine for me

it works okay for me too.

it doesn't always connect on first start-up, but it does
mostly at second try.

It's unreliable to the point of being unsuable IMO. I very
rarely connect.

strange how it doesn't seem to work for some people.

except when the servers down, I just don't have all of these
problems.

its usually ok for me, its just that the servers are down
quite regularly, and you have to download the latest
versions every couple of weeks or so.
Its still not up at the moment though.

my biggest complaint about soulseek is that when I search
for songs on soulseek, everything is crippled so to speak...
meaning I can't get any websites to show up in explorer... I
fucking hate that, as I like to download music when I browse
the web...

apparently the person (or people) who coded it, didn't take
into account that there would be a memory leak if a certain
number of files went over the limit. therefore, if i had a
large amount of files loaded in the program, then the
program would be basically placing all my files in memory,
which causes problems for both myself and others. although,
this is roughly what someone told me, so i may have given a
very generalized version of the problem :)

I think soulseek is alright, it has a lot of good things
that im very pleased with. They've got some server problems,
i think we will all live over that, just chill, it will come
back. All in all i think its a major possibility for us
electronic'ers to share the music we love.

I've tried twice with Soulseek, and both times it slowed my
PC down to a crawl within seconds of starting it up, then
failed to respond. So I just go with KaZaA Lite, and I
encourage anyone else with long-time SS problems to do the
same.

generally liked "will he nill he" more than the other.

but I only listened through them real quick - I'll give them
both a good listen this week and mail you what I think. :)

btw, I can't find my eels cd's. :(

when I find them I'll rip em for you, Paul.

this is what i'm talking about... the server being down..

soulseek as a service is great, and since the majority of
people who use it have a good taste in music, it's got great
music on it

but come on, for fuck's sake, the servers are down
so_fucking_much. what the fuck is the fucking story? it
fucking pisses me right the fuck off to the fucking point of
wanton fucking swearing.

cunts.
