didn't you know that all these so-called iconoclasts like
crunch and kid606 are closet pop fans? DUH!

(my guess is they get free promos..)

If they were cd's instead of vinyl, and if I knew they had
tracks other than the ones on crunch 1 or crunch 2, I'd buy
them like this "PIZZZZOW!" Yeah, just like
that.

There were two things I wanted to ask you. 1) have you heard
telefon tel aviv? Listen to the track farenheit fair enough
at www.funkungforum.co.uk (there's a remix competition of
it)... the electronic computer made parts in that track are
realllly excellent and sound almost similar to something
crunch would make. However the album this track is on, as a
whole, isn't very good in my opinion because of so much
inclusion of many unintricate parts made without the aid of
computers. (You've probably already heard this though)
2) On the album crunch 1, which of you specifically created
which tracks? Like who made toe tac tic? Or does every track
have about equal effort from both of you? Just curious.

3) did you do an autechre remix (see the pinned topic about
it in this messageboard)? If so you'd win like this
"PIZZZZOW!" Yeah, just like that.

oops, you meant doubles as in records by other people, not
by you.

fuck wrong thread.. as i said in the luke vibert topic by
mistake:

eh that n'sync record is the odd one in the bunch huh? i
take it back, i guess they really ARE pop boys. i could say

they just like it for the BT production but they probably
really like the song too.

w M w you're wrong about the TTA album.. it's great, but
it's not just a computers album. very organic. did you know
that they don't loop anything? everything is done by hand
and then processed to perfection.

; ) hee hee

yeah, NSYNC ... i wondered too when dave gave me that to
sell !!

as far as who does what basically we tried doin traks apart
and then workin on them together and for the video and the
dvd commin out on eat this recs that's what we did and i got
the melodies done first then we added the beats together
with the s.design and mixed it.

crunch1 was different that was the very first 15 traks we
ever did together, the one with the violin string in the
latter half was the first !! we used to meet up on Fridays
and get mash up, we had a studio in town next door to the
two lone swordsmens studio and we did C1 over about a year
and they were working on staydown at about the same time.
Those were good days : )

We pretty much just do it all together or not at all now
tho, we are both busy with other shit so we don't have time
when we aren't together ...

At the moment we are just concentratin on playin live
(wmcPYPmiami03/scand23/05/contex24/05/erratica31/05) and
have just remixed totactic/cassette for the video release.

weve just done a remix for lusine icl too ...

We are gonna chill now for a while, maybe do some more next
year. Dave's just had the surrounded 5.1 album out and he's
touring that for the next 6 months w.wide. (some Crunch gigs
too over the next few months in the US) ...

I do like some pop tho ! pop - popular (they can't get it
wrong all the time)

I am concentrating on the label too, we have the video out
next month then a 10" series feat ...
7ARK, FUNCKARMA, PSI SPY, A.KNIGHTS and more coming soon
after, maybe a limited pic disc set too ...

Info's always on the colony www.

I wonder what the hell you were consuming to "get mashed"...
whatever it is, I want some because it must have some
neurological effect on the parietal lobes, turning it's
consumer into some crazy omniscient musical prodigy... I
wrote stuff in your messulge board.

boobsworth- yeah, that's what I don't like about it though.
I love both of the tracks (I think #2 and 3) that have major
electronic tinkery, but some of the tracks are boring and
unintricate. I don't like the way they combine these two
contrasting elements.

all the tracks are intricate.. personally i like how they
combine the organic and the electronic(ally processed), but
i must admit i don't think the debut is all it could have
been. i'm looking forward to their new album this year :)

Great, I'll check out surrounded (makes me want someone to
invent surround sound headphones...)... I just tried a few
samples on amazon.com. They sound great, though they seem to
use less computer wizardry than crunch1. It's hard to tell
from the short samples, I'll have to get it. I saw one of
those videos where tipper was "mixing" or whatever... he
looked like an introverted psychotic hypnotized elf... such
an insane blank stare, heh heh.
