the players are mad at the direction team of real madrid (valdano, florentino perez...) cos they think they only care about money and cups but not about the players as people... (there were problems with guti when he knew beckham had been bought... and the same happened this summer with solari and morientes when ronaldo was bought)
so the players after ending the match and knowing they were the champions decided to celebrate only a few minutes in the field (not all the long that it was necessary for journalists to make some interviews and for the public to celebrate)
and then immediately they left to the dress rooms... there valdano went and told them to go back to the field... ans hierro as the captain said that they wouldnt and that if they wanted they wouldnt even celebrate next day (its a tradition to offer the cup in the main political buildings of the town)
at the end they didnt go back to the field... but next day all the official celebrations took place as usual... anyway that same day hierro and del bosque were not renewed contracts
direction team didnt like del bosque to be so friendly with players... so much that players ended up in revolt

huh, thanks for the insight... i had no idea what was going on, madrid players always seem like very good friends on the field - but it is normal that players like solari, mcmanaman, morientes and now guti are not happy sitting on a bench...
this was a really bad move from the managment of madrid...i mean if the players liked del bosque, surely that will affect them in some way
this really is a sad news...

yeah, i heard about that yesterday as well...do you think he can improve their game?
he was a brilliant player, dont know how is he as a manager...wasnt he a holland selector when they failed to qualify for the world championship?
anyway, i hope they improve their game, to see some real rivalry between madrid and barcelona again!

no he wasn't, that was van Gaal, their previous coach ;) Actually, Rijkaard led Holland to the semi's of the 2000 european championship, of course they should have won it, but also of course it had to come to penalties, and then everybody knows who's gonna lose :P

I dont understand that either... I liked him a lot... I still remember that 3-0 against Inter
I am not liking the new management team so far:
they said they wanted beckham (look where he is now) they wanted koeman for coach... he didnt come then they went for hiddink... neither

i could be wrong but it seems JLP is putting barcelonas name to every quality player in the world just to justify his appoinment and not to seem like he used david beckham to get himself there in the first place
eg henry, ayala hell probley bid for zidane next

that's better for mendieta as he totally doesn't fit in the system that Barca uses.
I didn't understand why Antic had to go either. Seems to me that he did an incredible job of reaching the UEFA cup spot, if you look at the position they had when van Gaal got fired again. Now they're taking a gamble by putting a fairly unexperienced coach in the hotseat.
He did a great job in EURO2000 for Holland, but never produced with the shitsquad Sparta he signed for next.
And to me the Spanish Competition isthe toughest league in the world, with so many competitors for the nr1 spot.

quick note for bill_
you're joke is sharp and topical ,
but your target is hopelessly wide of the mark .
If you're gonna be regarded as funny , at least go for someone who deserves it . Marc was a really lovely guy who came from poverty to give his family a better life . You don't appear to give a stuff about human values . Thats where yourself and the REAL Bill Hicks differ , and its a gaping difference . He chose his targets from his heart ; You need a conscience with your humour or people will think you're a wanker .

From the footy board I post on....
"Apparently MVF was quite close friends with one of the City academy kids named something Jordan. One day they were having lunch in the canteen, and MVF mentioned that he'd just bought a brand-new top-end Benz. The kid was asking all sorts of questions about it, so MVF offered to swap cars for a week to let the kid drive around in it for a while. The kid didn't think he was serious, so they went to the car park and the kid showed MVF his car - a beat-up old Renault Clio and waited for him to rescind the offer. Instead, MVF just gave him the keys to his Benz and asked for his."
