Have any of you noticed that the type of avatar you have
determines to some degree how people respond to you? I have
noticed this a lot with my last three changes :D

I find that some avatars will get me more responses than
others, but attitudes towards me don't realy change.
well.... not as far as I'm aware anyway

lol.... japanese?

this is the first time someone tells me such a thing.

I like avatar with pictures of the members rather than
abstract pics... just makes me feel like I am really talking
to an existing person

<---- This is me.

You can also see me in Return Of The Jedi where i play a
musician in Jabbas palace called Max Rebo.
It was fun doing that movie , the set was filled with
strange and friendly creatures , i made alot of friends.
I still keep in touch with the twileks Bib Fortuna and
Oola.
George lucas was a pain in the ass tho , he wanted like 90
different takes of the same scene.
I got tired of playing the same tune over and over again ,
"just one more take Sido i promise" he would say.
Sometimes i played off key cause i was so tired but that
didn't matter cause they edit that later.

avatars do have an influence, if you recognise the pic you
think 'that person likes ' whatever is in the pic 'enough to
make an avatar out of it'....
