Okay, according to the tracklisting for Vibes vol.2 @
[11:27] [fat kaimo] - tunteja 2 should be playing. However
when i listen to this part, it sounds exactly like Board of
Canada - Circle (from hooper bay). Am I correct in believing
this?

I'm thinking that whoever compiled vol.2 accidentally put
BOC on instead of fat kaimo.

Hahem. It really is a Fat Kaimo track. Someone thought it
would be funny to rename it to "Boards of Canada - Circle"
and to share it on SoulSeek.

In other words, Boards of Canada - Circle.mp3 is a
fake.

Why would he ? It's a good mean of promotion...

Anyway, he's aware of this, even if he doesn't know who
renamed his tracks.

how can it be good promotion if everyone thinks its BOC
instead of Kaimo

Because they may one day discover, like you, that it's
actually Fat Kaimo's music.

agheh. this thing again... there was at least one other
renamed too, it was my song 'nja' renamed to boc's
'trillions'. found out about on this board, thanks to
darius.

i say again just to be sure:
i did not rename my tracks to boc songs and i have no clue
who did it. strange compliment, i guess...

I never would have found out unless I had both the fake
CIRCLE, then listened to xltronic vibes, then posted a
thread, and then waited for a response from somone who knew
the real deal. It seems like a load of bullocks to me.

on soulseek I cant even find hooper bay. The only thing
there is Circle (it seems like 10 ppl have the fake Circle)
and then there is Seward leaf. Is that yours too?

Trillions? I have that, it sounds like an ambient piece from
bladerunner with a saxophone. Is this yours too?

strange but nice at the end

I mean... I could have believe that it was boc... which
means how profesional the sound is.

congrats fat kaimo

äh really? - does boc really do stuff like this? all i've
heard from them is this slow hiphop beat things.

on seward leaf - i don't think it's mine then, unless some
genious ripped a part of my song and compressed it to
different bitrate...
which could be possible afterall haha - i can't really
understand the motives of someone doing these things..

Well it sounds like old school BOC(with a bit more drum
programming), not the Geogaddi or MHRTC stuff.

*10 years from now, Fat Kaimo being interviewed in NME...*

"So, is it really true that your breakthrough came when
someone renamed your tracks as old Boards of Canada ones on
that old peer to peer program soulseek?"

"Yes, I swear it wasn't me! Quite flattering how many people
thought it really was BoC though..."
