i haven't heard any recent news on them. are they coming
out with an album anytime in the near future? when did
geogaddi release?

I think it said in a Warp newsletter there is a new EP or
album out this year

They started working on a new album last summer, but
geogaddi took about 4 years after MHTRTC so don't hold your
breath ;)

I'd like an EP (like IABPITC) to tide me over till their
next full length release.

they are going to take a more drastic change to stay afloat
I think...

dont get me wrong, I love thier style... but while Geogaddi
was different from MHTRTC, it was in a very subtle way...
and alot of people took this as failure to progress...

I think they need to do something on the next album that
kind of catches us off gaurd.... because while I love what
they do... if they keep up with the same forumla... it could
get old :-\

I like boc but I think they are too specific... like always
around the same sound... its good and I love their releases,
but it seems they are just interested in that particular
sound.

mhtrtc is one of my fav all time releases

offline melack from barcielwave on 2003-05-20 10:47 [#00706741]

i read in an interview that they were working in a new
sound, but because of fans pression they decide to release
geogaddi keeping a similar mhtrtc style.

im sure their next release will be totally different, more
"natural" sounds i think...

i would imagine that any new BoC will have clear threads
tying it back to every other piece of music they've
released... while still managing to break new ground, much
like Geogaddi (which DID break new ground and sounds
relatively distant from past releases)

offline Archrival on 2003-05-20 11:10 [#00706750]

uhrmm they said in a recent interview that they were taking
it back to the old sound, more analog minimalistic sounding
twoism style..

if titsworth's site is to be believed, the next album will
be all new material recorded after geogaddi, nothing
recycled from the early to mid 90s

but i think the most definitive explanation was just
provided by pOgO

yes... im not saying that thier current songs will get
old... its just that, they cant keep doing the same
thing...

its like the beatles... I wanna hold your hand was, is, and
always will be a great song... but what if the beatles just
kept writing songs in that style? it would have gotten
old...

they progressed... kept their beatles sound... but expanded
on it.... now there is even more music to love by them...
and for different reasons.

make sense?

Talent is relative, you can't really boc are more talented
than the beatles.
the way boc produce stuff is very different.

They are both incredibly talented in completely different
ways.

i keep playing geogaddi and i still don't really like it
that much. but i'm sure they'll be happy with the 20 quid i
paid for it.

Geogaddi is fuckin' dark in comparison, to every thing else
they've done so it's understandable.

I love it though!!!

i don't really like twoism either.

but i love the 2 eps, the peel sessions and mhtrtc.

i don't usually see things in such black-and-whiteness, i

twoism is real nice... simple melodies and percussion, but
real sweet! Geogaddi is great, I enjoy it more then
MHTRTC... and ABPOITC is just amazing!!

I as well hope they change their style... I love their
music, but I don't want them to keep repeating the same
thing...

Canada: home of The National Film Board of Canada

i used to watch the NFBOC nature documentaries from the 70s
when i was a kid growing up in poland quite a lot, so that
classic synth sound (which BOC call their 'secret weapon')
is permanently engrained into my brain - i'm glad BOC
carries the mantle of that sound into the new millennium,
because it really does deserve to live on - i loved those
nature documentary soundtracks!

ouch, i am so happy with geogaddi, i can still listen to it
(well, not for the weeks straight that i did when it came
out, anyway). i think it is more edgy than their previous
releases, but i wouldn't mind them changing it up a bit.
i've got faith, i'm sure anything they release will be
great, and i can't wait.

I didn't mean it in an ouchy way. I really like Geogaddi
too.. I just meant that it would have been really neat-o
if, after release, they just dropped out and returned to

Rue the Whirl is amazing.

I don't want to stir the olt tunes pot any more than
necessary (apparently a lot of em may not be boc...) but
'Sir Prancelot Brainfire'/'Dave came to Mana'h'im(sp?)' (the
one that sounds like the theme music to a 70s cartoon) is
simply one of the best pieces of music i've ever heard
.

Also Zoetrope... amazing stuff.

i dont think boc are capable of anything radically different
from their current style...

the way i see it, mhtr2c was good, geog was more
experimental, and a new release would be the same but even
more experimental....at lease thats what im hoping for...

ago... on radioactive and biological warefar, with
terrorists... and almost ALL of the music was BoC

just a little fun fact for ya
