I had mine done last night, I was really pleased with it, a
bit like a minimal piano piece played on a watery synth. We
had a powercut (never happens where I live :/ ) and I lost
1/2 hours work on it. Try as I might I can't recreate it.
It's always the same, when you're really into something and
on a role, that's when you forget to save- when you're just
messing about you hit alt+f,s every 20 seconds :(

I'll finish this (most likely do a new one) on Sunday.

Blargh blargh, because short ambient interludes are quite
easy to knock off in half an hour, here's another one:

Shadow Play

Jesus god.. sorry guys.. I've been dying. Holy god I've got
strep throat and I've barely been able to walk from one room
to another, much less actively spearhead the project. Thanks
everyone for your tracks and yes tibbar, go for it.

Still looking for some more tracks please..

I still like it. I wonder what you're autechre remix'll be
like. You're probably that one obscure unknown person

i'll be interested to see the final mix, cos i imagine it
could be more difficult mixing stuff without beats ... maybe
on second thought its not that bad.

You can take any normal track, play it at a super low
octave, and *poof*

ambience

This is also known as the leading proven technique to make
any track more boring.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the track w M w :)
If there are more mini-song-writing-competitions such as
this hopefully I'll become less of an unknown user... and of
course now i've been introduced to the site i'll definatly
be sticking around for longer than the ae compo... :)
I find it very hard to keep up with this board though, as
the amount of posts and topics and users that gets processed
per day is overwhelming to say the least...

Anyway, the final mix of this should be pretty damn dope,
i've really enjoyed listening to the pieces everyone has
submitted so far (especially 'and thanks for listening')...

what i am sure was extremely difficult work.

still have lots of people who signed up but haven't sent a
track in yet.. please bring it as i would hate to have to
smite you in front of everone else.

also, if anyone sees fatty kaimo, mylittlesister,
virginpusher or randaraki around, try to recruit them
please, still lots of room for more submissions.. and im
sure these fellers could contribute some a+ efforts

I made a much better ambient track (my other one sucked). It
is so simple but depressing. I do this sort of thing a lot-
have some sort of loop and then have a loop of accentuation
of THAT loop of a different phase. ex. have a melody of only
4 simple repeating evenly spaced notes, then accentuate
every FIFTH note somehow.. this results in a new more
complex melody since 5 is out of phase with 4. This is a
really simple track but I like it. What do you think?

i liked it. nice and delicate. .. how did you manage to
encode stuff in negative time? - sounds like someone eating
a banana before the song kicks in.

care to have a listen to 4 edit3?

That's pretty cool. Thick distorted sound, sorta like
electric guitar, only with more computer control. There's
symmetry throughout but new things happen also.

:) .: neo-grunge haha. i might have to master it properly,
b/c the bass is quite wide.

so was it a banana from equador?

You mean you heard a bannana in MY track? I thought you were
talking about someone else's track. hmm... have you checked
to see if someone shoved a bannana in your headphones?
