i think some people slag warp because its the biggest label
in the 'idm' scene..
i personally like them.. but like with all underground
scenes.. there are elitists who scoff at anything with
mainstream exposure.. and since warp is home to the most
'mainstream' artists its an easy target for resentment. some
people seem to think that because of its success, its as bad
the big coorporate major labels.. which i dont think is
true

and thats why elitism is bad news, kids

i mean i took some, but they made me put my camera in the
car, and the pictures i did take fuckin sucked

I only like a few of the artists on Warp, but I don't hate
the label at all. They've done good things for this brand of
music.

i hate warp cos they are in the UK, i couldn't get aphex
chockies with my 26 mixes, and i can't get massive freebies
cos they screw up orders all the time cos there is lots O
partying going on in the mail room. HA

jivver you're a wicked cheeky monkey!!!

yes warp should have a retail store right here where i live
:)

now seriously, its not like any decent label is not doing us
music lovers a huuuuge favour everyday by existing. it must
be hard not to be a corporate giant.

and because warp is bigger than ... some smaller labels, its
relatively easy to find their releases in places where even
i with my music buying handicap can purchase and enjoy them
*waits for her 26mixes, but so totally without choccies*

Well I dislike the fact they don't send me freebies like
everyone else seems to get :(

I've been told that they're part of the Time-Warner group as
well but that it's kept quiet.

I like Warp. They have a nice sense of design (okay, they
hire good designers...), make good releases, warpmart carry
other good labels, the lovely freebies they send and perhaps
most importantly they are very reasonable and professional.
Skam ignoring emails (when they're requesting to buy
something!) just strikes me as rude and gets my back up.
Warp's staff are consistantly friendly and helpful.

Only thing I dislike is that they "poach" artists from other
labels, but I don't really hold that against them as it
means greater distribution for the artist in question.
