Just an interesting story (for thoose with a GBA in their
pocket ;):

"For everyone who is wondering what else they can do with
their newly purchased Gameboy Advance SP comes JAMiD - Java
Action Media Interactive Device. What is it? "The aJile
Systems JAMiD JAM-ID100C cartridge will turn your Nintendo®
Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Advance SP system into a
jammin' Java interactive gaming machine capable of playing
those free Java games popping up all over the Internet.
Based on Sun Microsystem's J2ME Mobile Information Device
Profile (MIDP), the JAMiD accelerated Java platform will run
MIDP 1.0/2.0 games and other multimedia MIDlets." It can
also play MP3s...a developer version available now and a
consumer version is coming soon. Way cool."

You're probably going to want a headphone adapter too.

Headphones? nah, the speaker on the GBA is so awsome! ;)

What cabbog means is the GameBoy Advance SP (the new one)
you need a special headphone adaptor to be able to listen
with headphones - they got rid of the headphone jack on the
GBASP

got rid of the headphone jack

I don't own the GBASP... but for what
reason would did they remove it?
If I'd be out in public I'd never use the
speaker and bother people around me,
I'd use headphones instantly.

And the JPG viewer rulez too. Due to the res of the screen
you can fit 100s of pics on a flash cart.

Someone really ought to do a tracker program for it. I
would, but I have no experience of sound programming and my
machine code (esp. for the z80 processor is awful :D

I got my $193 tax return slip in the mail yesterday. As soon
as I tore the envelope open I heard a distant cry... There
was no mistaking that sound: It was a platinum GBA SP far
off in the distance, waiting to be liberated from it's
cardboard box..
...
Today I leave.

I just heard they plan on porting Donkey Kong Country and
the Earthbound series to the GBA. Oh joy of joys! I've
never played the Earthbound games though.. What are they
like?

Holy shit man, Earthbound is like my favorite game ever,
totally freaking hilarious and with the best soundtrack ever
put to cartridge. They need to make a new one, ASAP. The N64
version got nixed, looked like it sucked anyway. The simple
lo-fi graphics were part of the charm, you need to have
them.

The original NES Mother (Earthbound), I never played to any
great extent yet, but I have a ROM of it and it's brilliant.

Now Ness is stuck in hackneyed games like Super Smash
Brothers... what the fuck?

Vote Earthbound for President in 2004

I'll make sure to pick them up then... If I ever get a GBA
SP that is. Seems they're sold out all over the country and
new shipments aren't expected to arrive until may - one of
Nintendo's little marketing tricks to build demand I
guess... They're always so coy with their fans.
I would have picked up The Soft Boys 'Nextdoorland' today as
well but the record shop only had one copy and the case was
cracked. I can't deal with that.
And we're supposed to have sleet tomorrow now too?
My life is horrible.

Want to give me a summary of Earthbound's story and\or
gameplay? After fine combing the internet for hours I found
on a dusty text-only webpage last updated in 1996, "a
light-hearted rpg aimed at children". That certainly
explains your attraction but I'd really like a more thorough
description.

Total bullshit, whoever wrote that summary is a retard.
There's too many clever pop culture references and cute
little in-jokes for it to be ''aimed at children''. Whoever
wrote that was just judging it on its graphics. I want to
find out who wrote this and eat them.

savvy teenagers and older. excellent game.

Typical Final Fantasy gameplay with a very NON-typical
atmosphere and feel. You hoard gold, but you store it in the
bank and withdraw it from ATM machines. You use rulers and
baseball bats instead of swords and axes. You don't have
elixirs or potions, but you order pizzas and eat your mom's
cooking. Things get really insane later on though, aliens
and whatnot. There's really nothing to compare it to... it's
a riot and a no risk venture.

Oh wow, awesome site! And ''Earthbound 64'' didn't get
finished or released... not that I care much. It didn't look
like anything to get excited about anyway. Would've been a
