Sounds great. I'll definately pick them up when they come
out.
Seems the first 2 are coming together in one cartridge and
the third one is still under development(?). The lead
designer said something about doing it on GBA without the
extra graphical features.. Was he referring to the nixed 64
version?

A cel-shaded Earthbound would be awesome... the problem with
the 64 version is it was the typical jaggy stuff, but a
truly cartoon-Earthbound...

Yeah, it's a lot of fun -- Very easy but a lot of fun.
Much more stylized than the original.. The whole thing
plays out like a storybook with new pages for each chapter.
You eventually get to have your own house and garden that
you can grow different fruits and vegetables in with mixed
results. There's also a little stable where you can keep
your captured beasts and raise them to fight alongside you.
Unfortunately, having a 2nd player(human) is only available
sometimes.. One of my favorite features in the original was
being able to play the whole thing through with a friend.

They're taking their fucking time. ''Jay Worth inquired
about a copy of Zelda, let's be sure to never order any
more''. Fuckerz.

Ha ha
You're even more of a dork than I am. I may have lost some
dignity prepaying for a Nintendo game.. But at least I have
it now and am not scrounging around Walmart like so much
vermin. You truely are a lowly thing Mr.Worth.

An interesting EGM article I found on that site. I still
have this issue, I can't throw anything away.

hey orphecks, do ya reckon the GBA player for the cube will
be compatible with the flash linker? can you see the
potential there?

I'm a pack rat too.. My bedroom floor is a musty
conglomerate of old magazines, shower curtains, German candy
bar wrappers and animal bones. Doesn't that mean you're
mentally ill?
Or is it just lazy?

Thanks for the review. Wow, back then the EGM staff had to
write a whopping three paragraphs instead of one.

ah. i have every EGM since 1994 i think. i really, really
need to clean out my shit.
luckily i got rid of those icky gamepro's a while back. what
a crappy magazine.
man, the good old days of EGM, when dan hsu would dish out
terrible scores for half the stuff that came out.
i remember his review of the "spice world" game went
something like "what the fuck was EA thinking? shit world is
more like it . 0.5"

"another cool thing is, if you get in a fight that you're
undoubedly going to win, the game goes on as if you've
beaten the enemies, giving you the money and the experiece"
*Shafts of light pierce the clouds and angelic choir sings
in jubilee

That's pure brilliance! There's nothing worse in an RPG
than having to stop what you're doing to crush wave after
wave of the same two rats and an earwig over and over and
over and over again. The first thing that goes is the
volume - Whoever composed the battle music is going to be
taking a piss in a public urinal when they get the old fish
line from behind.
Mute. That's the only warning the game gets. After that
it's out in the middle of the road geting crushed by the UPS
truck bringing me more videogames.. Oh, the iron...Wait.
Ye...No.
I can't believe this hasn't been copied and made the
industry standard. It seems like such common sense! Arghh!

Just for this, the game is definately getting bought.

Gamepro is a joke. Most magazines that cover more than one
system are crapola. Nintendo Power is pretty bad too.. The
layout and pictures are perrty but the content is zilch.

if only next generation was still around. that was a nice
mag.
nintendo power is pretty bad, just official biased
bullshit.
i tend to stick to EGM.

My favorite mag was ''Game Players'', the reviewers and
letters section was totally hilarious. I want to go into the
closet and read them now, actually.

The music in this game is also first rate, there's probably
a dozen battle themes and most bosses have their own tracks.
You can remove the mute button from your remote if you want,
though that would be a pretty fucking stupid to do.

And about that... I have no idea, the only thing I know
about Gameboy Advances is where to download the emulators!
60 bucks a game where I live, I'll be damned if I'm gonna
buy them.

Earthbound would be worth it though...

That happened to me with Computer Gaming World, though only
for an additional year. Sort of odd, you think all of that
would be computer regulated and flawless. Maybe a fly fell
into the printer.

ahaha.
computer gaming world keeps sending me free issues to get me
to subscribe. funny thing is the issues are always beaten up
as though the mailman got into a scuffle with them.
i once opened to mail to find an issue with the first twenty
pages torn out and half the plastic wrap missing.

Oh woe. I received an anonymous tip today that
K-Mart*shudder* had several GBA SPs still in stock..
Certain of my victory over whatever it is that's always out
to make my life miserable, I stopped at the local
Electronics Boutique and bought two games : Yoshi's
Island($30) and Warioland4($20), both titles of which were
recommended to me by fellow friend and XLT playboy Jay
Worth. After leaving the store, I made my way to K-Mart
where, upon entering, I was rendered aghast : Humans with
blue sweatpants and mustaches roamed freely and without
shame.. Corpulent women with bleached hair and pink fanny
packs bickered in the aisles. Off in the distance a pack of
juggalos had managed to tear open a bag of hershey's kisses
and were pelting them at each other like savages.. It was as
if the store were some wretched haven for the all the town's
lowlifes and welfare recipients. I felt as if I were a
prince amongst lepers.. I finally managed to locate the GBA
SPs without coming into direct contact with any of the
noxious automated filth previously described and went to
fetch the section attendant. It was at that instant that an
indescribable horror dawned upon me.. After acquiring the 2
games, my total allocated funds had been brought down to
$107 and 25 cents. The state tax in New York is 7% and, as
is well known, the new Gameboy model costs a teeth-gnashing
$100.. That makes the the purchase price around $107. "No
problem" I thought to myself, "covered and then some".
Alas, for some reason unbeknownst to any mortal man I was
informed that K-Mart had decided to sell their SPs at $110.
Was I hallucinating? Was it a mistake? Surely it was a
mistake. I was allowed neither comfort nor console. How
quickly I was brought to my knees.. After pleading with the
manager for 10 minutes to no avail I retreated to the
parking lot where I hurled a shopping cart through the
windshield of a Toyota pickup truck.
Now I am home, typing out this pathetic and most grevious
account in a vain attempt to reverse my wan

''I retreated to the parking lot where I hurled a shopping

You big brawny boy, you!

And I can't believe you can get Wario for $20 there. You can
maybe buy the box and the booklet for that price here, no
game.

What's the exchange rate?
My mom made me mollasses cookies today and I managed to
squeeze $7 out of my little brother's piggy bank so my
morale is back up.
Tonight I return to that squallid den of iniquity...
defeat is not an option.

...
CERTAIN of my sucess today, I strolled in around 5:00 with a
pair of sun glasses and my sexiest jogging shorts. "I'm
sorry, we just sold out 5 minutes ago".
Someone is going to pay. If I don't have one by monday
night, you're going to read about me in the news.
