I wish these compilations would stay cut up though...it's
annoying having it in one big file.

well id personally keep the tracks unmixed..

streaming an entire set worked for me cause i have a good
connection..

but also at the same time i dig the idea of making the user
download the whole thing. that after all is part of the
point of making a compilation.

SO i vote for A, but unmixed.

offline teapot from Paddington (Australia) on 2003-04-12 15:18 [#00647068]
Points: 5739 Status: Regular

i didnt mean mixed hardcore or nothing :) there would be a
touch of silence between each track

but your right.. the point of the compilation is too avoid
people just downloading one or two tracks from artists they
already know they like, instead of being introduced to
others...

i think B, then its easier to find out what track your
listening to :-) but they can still be mixed

B for me!

I'm not on dial-up...I mean I'd check out every track since
i'm not that familiar, but since I do like to cut apart
these big files, it will take time. Oh well. If it's good
enough, i'll cut it up, if not, then it didn't really matter
anyway, right?

B. I don't care if you creatively fade one track into
another or whatever, but if I want to hear a specific track
(like... MY OWN TRACK... yeah), I don't want to fastforward,
rewind, etc.

I'd go for A too, as it's more cohesive. Artists can always
make their remixes available separately later. Artwork
would be great too.

tibbar, i didnt scrap the tool mix, just screwed my list up
:/ sorry, it will be included

looks like i might do A guys, chris ochre is right about the
fact that you can all make your remixes available seperately
so im going to do that instead. sorry if that pisses anyone
off! :(

sure that if i listen to the whole mix, and i would want to
get some of them separate i can ask the artist to send it or
so... i mean for example wMw... i have the separate song
yet, so i can hear the mix

That'd be great- a chance to show off some
"sc-c-c-c-ratch-hcta-at-ta-at---scratching"!

I'd be well up for remixing anything off "Devil's Night" by
D12. I could do it "live" on turntables as I have two copies
of that. I wouldn't mind doing anything by Dilated peoples
either, esp. "Live on Stage" :)

Mail Phob and co. before progressing too far!

Yeah man, this whole "email phobe" thing everytime the music
makers want to get together and have a laugh is a little too
Orwellian..

Too much form kills function and breed cynicism.

ever need any help with artwork, im your man :)

i would also be VERY into the remixing rap idea... i could
