most of their early stuff were released on music70, which is
boc's own label - I doubt they will ever re-release this
stuff.

In general, the first releases were limited and often only
given to their closest friends/relatives on cassette (some
of them were re-released on cd through music70 though..).

Just forget it! If you ever come across old boc mp3-titles
on slsk, they are probably fakes. I found a few from hooper
bay, but to the best of my knowledge these are fakes too.
It's kinda hard to verify that the tracks are real unless
you know someone who's got 'em - and if you know someone who
do, you'd probably have them already, wouldn't ya?

offline AlbertoBalsalm from Reykjavík (Iceland) on 2003-04-11 10:29 [#00644934]

has nobody been listening to me? click the link to the watmm
thread, read all the replies for proof that these tracks are
real boc tracks. i'll quote jorex:

Alright, it's time this fucking nightmare ended - let's
clear things up:
1) the tracks that have been leaked are legit - they belong
to a collection of songs on a cassette called "A Few Old
Tunes". They were created in small numbers for family and
friends of Marcus and Michael Sandison. They were NOT meant
for public consumption. One person who was given these tapes
betrayed their trust (it's not important who), and as a
result, numerous people got copies of the tracks. At this
point, all they want to do is minimize the chance of these
tracks coming out and being mislabeled/spread/sold online,
as it's their art. These tracks WILL get mislabeled, in the
vain attempt to 'create' other tracks on releases people
wish were available, as has happened before with fake tracks
people have made and others people thought sounded right.
Why people do this is beyond me, as all it does is confuse
fans and dilute BOC's reputation. Sharing of these tracks IS
copyright violation. No ifs, ands or buts.
2) The reason I took the stance (and admittedly lied) saying
they were fake was to try to prevent their spread - I happen
to be friends with a member of Hexagon Sun, and I have been
asked in the past to keep information about these releases
off this board. It's not that BOC have anything to hide,
it's just the fact this is their property and it was not
meant for the public at large. Unfortunately, the situation
has gotten out of control, and I feel that honesty is the
best policy - I don't like to lie, especially to my freinds
on this board and the visitors to this site, but I made a
poor judgement call in deciding how to handle this. BOC/Hex
Sun has never asked me to lie for them; I took this route of
my own volition.
3) I ask every one of you who have downloaded tracks to
please do not re-distribute them further - if you're a true
fan of BOC's music, ap

, appreciate the fact you got to hear music you might
otherwise not had gotten to, and keep them to yourself. Of
course, you don't have to listen to me, but please consider
BOC's feelings on the subject.
4) I apologize for betraying whatever trust you have (had)
in me, and try to understand my intentions. I'm not trying
to hoard these tracks for myself, for profit or otherwise.
5) I do NOT own any rare BOC (besides BOC Maxima) - even if
I did, I would not share such tracks with anyone out of
respect for BOC. Please do not ask me for unreleased
material - the only thing I trade music-wise is live
recordings, which most people who visit this site know I put
up for everyone to hear when I can.
6) My stance on music sharing is mixed - I try to respect
the artists' wishes in most cases, but any tracks I do
happen to get in MP3 format, if I like them I make an
attempt to purchase them (as is the case with my recent
Brothomstates discovery and resulting purchase of both the
Qtio EP and Claro LP, on both CD and vinyl.)

there's no way to verify that, AlbertoBalsam - I'll cook up
a similar story and say I'm really Marus Eoin of Scotland,
not nlogax of wherever.

Not that I doubt what you're saying, but for the sake of
argument, it could just as easy be a prank.

The tracks are 100% legit, and already they are
mislabeled/not split correctly (according to that
tracklisting above).

If you respect BOC, don't download/distribute these any more
than they have - I know that's hard when you're a fan, but
if you truely respect them, then don't do it.

Sadly then, I do not respect them - what else can one expect
when the material is available and ready to be
downloaded?Morally wrong or not - I will forever continue my
journey towards BoC's earliest material. I see it as a
fundamental right to pursue this goal.

I mean, I'd give my right leg for all their releases - no
doubt about that.

it's there, people want it..
there's really nothing more to it than that - I honestly
think your average BoC-whores are willing to push the
respect-thingy aside to satisfy their own need for
BoC-dr00gs..

Oh sorry Recycle - meant to answer your question as well:

It's not that they're 'holding them back' from the fans...
this was art they created for themselves and a select few
friends. They never had any intention of releasing these
tracks (although some have ended up on other releases in
different forms in some cases, even as late as appearing on
Geogaddi). Plus, as artists, they are more interested in
what they're doing *now* versus what they did 10+ years ago.
Mike and Marcus respect the fans' desires a lot; that's why
Twoism was reissued.

Anyone notice the recent flood of MASK EPs on Ebay recently?
;)

thanks for answering in length my question, your a good man

informed and formative person or cunt)

hope you dont take affence to the cunt, before i heard the
phrase "come on you cunts lets have some afx acid" i to was
affended by the word

(last question for now) did they re-release twoism and hi
scores or was it a record company thing ?

thanks........thad......alan...........smoyer.......recycle

LOL - you stay the hell away from me... and yer dog too! :)

The reissuance of Twoism was a fan thing - BOC felt bad
people where paying 100's on Ebay for it.

Hi Scores was purely a SKAM decision, but I'm sure SKAM did
it for the fans, as some fans complained HS was hard to
get.

There are now 3 pressings of HS out there, hardly any
difference between each pressing though.

I'm convinced - the material has to be authentic - sorry for
being a buttplug on here earlier, but there's just so much
fake BoC-shit going around these days..

so basically, I'm d/l'ing it now - right or wrong? I
