Exactly!

When 3000 people died in the wtc-crash the world changed...
and now that thousand's of people have died in the war we're
just supposed to overlook that little fact.

I do not think anyone on this board has ever been
pro-saddam. There's just alot of people who think starting a
war (which mostly just hurts innocent people) was the right
way to deal with him. It's like dealing with a broken bone
by amputating the entire leg.

Ever heard the phrase 'Evil thrives when good men do
nothing'?

Very simple concept to understand. The sooner people on this
Board accept that we did the right thing and stop blaming
the States and UK, then the sooner we can all move on.
People on this board are constantly looking to picks holes
with their loony conspiracy theory rot - grow the fuck up.
If you wish to ever be taken seriously in society, then
superstitious crud like that has to be dropped.

Dear promo,

I wonder how much background info on this war you have
seen/read.

Maybe you should check bbc news and other channels to do
some reading or listening or whatever.

I'm gonna say no more. It's useless. Go fight wars like in
medieval times. That's good. Go on that crusade.

'Axis of evil'; now that's a sophisticated way of stating
things.

And it is a "good" deed to fight war. Good for your economy,
good for your oil, good for your weapon industry, good so
that you can play boss in this world, ...

Fuck!

this thread should be closed
it's of no use discussing the war with someone who probably
based his arguments on what he saw on bbc and cnn (which is
obviously far from objective)

ok

if someone kills a member of your family and it enrages you
to the point you become insane - your telling me you would
want to resolve it peacefully?

i dont thing being anti war is pro saddam, but not getting
rid of him allows him to continue, so you may as well be pro
saddam

i dont have all the answers, never will, but i dont see how
we could rationalize with an irrational man such as saddam

i think we did (in some ways) show him that we mean
business

read about what he has does to civilians - good lord - its
worse than the nazis

I can follow your arguments, but I just wonder why Bush just
recenlty felt like starting this war? It's not that Saddam
has become more cruel recently.

Why only against Saddam, as there are loads of other cruel
dictators.

The real reasons for this war lie elsewhere, which is why I
can not support this.

US didnt start this war to get rid of saddam...

someone had to take him down but definitely not with
war-inspectors were doing good job apperantly so why not
continue the inspections?

Promo... I'll try to refrain from being offensive, although
some of the things you have written here have made me feel
physically sick.

Do you think that Mr Blair, Mr Bush, Mr Rumsfeld, Mr
Powell... or any of the people that govern our Great
countries, are beyond fault, and so intelligent that to
question them is fundamentally stupid?
My feelings are that many of those in the US administration
(at least) are of questionable intellect for people with
that much responsibility, and therefore it is my democratic
duty to question their actions (at least those of MY
government). In questioning them I have consistently
recieved less than satisfactory answers, which has resulted
in my anger at what has been done in Iraq.
I'm glad Saddam has gone, but that doesn't mean I agree with
the way it has been done, and I feel sick when I hear people
saying how great the US and UK are... what... for killing
THOUSANDS of people innocent and guilty. As far as I know,
cluster bombs aren't even smart enough to recognise children
from adults, let alone innocent from guilty.
Am I safer now than I was 6 weeks ago? Probably not, and I
certainly don't feel safer.
Are the people of Iraq less hungry/thirsty now than they
were 6 weeks ago. No.

As far as I can see, there is little to be happy about.
(Other than the small number of 'coalition' casualties.)

its all about bullshit - but there is a bit of naive hope in

handed over to the people and they can rebuild whatever fair

but again im naive and wishful in my thinking

Morgoth,

Don't give me this CNN / BBC bullshit. Get a fucking life
you nobody loser. In life you have to make decisions and not
dither around when a situation is getting worse all the
time. I'm not interested in CNN or the BBC or whatever their
stinking views are, so quit that crap NOW - honestly what a
silly naive perception of things. I saw what needed to be
done before even September 11 and its something that needs
to be done elsewhere too. You're selfish; that’s the nub
of it and you just don't realise it. You're pathetic,
utterly pathetic.

That's a polite way of saying things. I was hoping we could
continue discussing things in an adult manner, without
insults. But if that's you're way of discussing things, I
feel sorry for you.

And maybe if the US had never interferred in other parts of
the world, 11 september would not be remembered as a
horrible day?

The unjustifyable behaviour of the terrorists is a reaction
to the US behaviour of the past.

And If you see what's to be done? Tell me, I'm curious!
Maybe we should build a rocket shield against rockets that
were never even fired at us.

its a shame that people from france could come over here and

Well, It's not my intention to dig up some old story here,
but if the UN would not have started economically boycotting
Iraq, but instead would have given them food and medical
supplies, helping them rebuild their country after several
destructive wars (against Iran, and of the first gulf war),
the population would at least have had food and health care,
where as now they suffered from their regime and from
shortage of stuff.

It might not have been all good, but it would have prevented
some suffering.

How they would have had to deal with Saddam is a different
story, I do not know.

I only know that the first gulf war ended sooner, so that
Saddam's army wasn't too week to deal with the Kurds an
Shjiets (or however you have to write that). He was then
kept in power as a stabilizing factor against the more
fundamentalist Iran.

probably they (UN, all the countries involved actually)
should support some iraqi politicians (who has some support
by iraqi people) and to send saddam on some tribunal...
something alike milosevis i guess...

Morgoth,

Yeah thats a great one. You really are a genius; old Saddam
would have armed himself to the teeth; he would have had the
latest tanks and weapons and France would have supplied them
too. Dealing with Iraq then would have been a much harder
task.

Erm,

if you only supply them with food, and medicin? Comparable
to the 'Oil for food' thing, but then on a larger scale?
I'm purely talking about humanitarian aid, which would have
to be controled by the UN, so that those really in need
would get it.

Disarming would still be somehting Saddam would have had to
do.
