demos recorded at the right track studios, released on such bootlegs as purest feeling... definitely reznor at his sweetest. a more stripped down and happier sounding pretty hate machine. i've loved these demos since i first heard them in 1997. check out "maybe just once", prime drum machine and synth reznor that never made it to the album cos it just sounds too damn hopeful. |

not sampled, played live... of course it's the worst nin track ever, but i love it. it cracks me up (speaking of cracking, how about trent's voice in that song!) my fave PHM demo would probably be "that's what i get". in many ways better than the final version. love the acoustic guitars and extra lyrics. the "kinda i want to" demo is great too. it's like cheesy preset roland 808 magic. |
