I was actually about to leave the room when the fat guy with a voice like one of the blokes off "The Fast Show" was presenting then it cut to her. Sad to see her nearly getting gassed this morning.

They should put a load of cameras in a 180 arc at the front of each uk base camp there. It'd be lush to have "bullet time" footage of mortar attacks/ gas canisters releasing gas etc.
Those US machine guns are sweet though- the ones that glow white hot at night after 1000 rounds. You wouldn't be able to see that at day.
I wish there was a 24 web cast from each of the frontline bases. It'd kick ass- get the public involved... might gain more support for the war effort. They could txt/email in, "Hi guys, love the show, I think I spotted some rag heads moving around in the left of the picture on camera 4. Might want to go check it out..."

to me this sounds like: "ow how great war is! wouldn't it be great seeing people and houses bombed?"
no offense please, i agree that there should be reporters and cameras giving an objective view of it all
but this gave me the idea as if you guys consider this 'great tour-of-duty'-like action' .. i mean this is real, war isn't entertainment imo

there were no biological or chemical weapons in those Iraqi attacks..we watch the propaganda unfold..
as far as supporting the troops bollocks goes..that's once again the oldest ploy..from someone who was there and present in the US during Gulf War I...this is how it works..
1.Create an easily reproduced object as a totem..like post 9/11 it was the US flag..in 1991 it was a yellow ribbon.
2.Attach a loaded question as a representation of this totem..In 1991 it was that you are supporting your troops by wearing/displaying the yellow ribbons.
3.Castigate those who refuse...massive rallies of over weight middle aged women went charging around like wounded rhinos physically attacking those not wearing/displaying the yellow ribbons claiming that those opposed to the yellow ribbons were in support of the slaughter of our troops, our children..media picked up on that and those not displaying yellow ribbons were not only unpatriotric but also barbarians and buthcers that believed the slaughter of innocent teenaged troops fighting in the middle east. Pretty soon people were frightened not to wear or display the yellow ribbons.
4.Misrepresent the representation of this totem...once the yellow ribbons become a part of the US psyche..with people willingly or otherwise..wearing it..decorating their front porches streetlights etc with it..all of the sudden the President proclaimed that he had the full support of the US population..the media would show pictures of rows upon rows of houses and people and trees and streetlights and shops etc decorated with yellow ribbons...I knew many people who were vehemently opposed to the bombings of Baghdad but were too scared to show dissent.
