[It was just something my mum said to me last night when I
brought up the # of resolutions issues - she always says
things that I can't answer cos I'm useless with facts - so I
have to come here to check it out]

There's still no evidence that the US or UK want Iraq's oil.
Bush and Blair have both said repeatedly that it belongs to
the Iraqis. Yesterday, Blair said he envisions the UN
administering the Iraqi oil in the interim.

Well, fixing the problem?

For that you have to go out to Iraq and learn about their
way of living, their ethics, morals, values, their habbits,
try to understand their beliefs.
No one has ever done that, so the only thing you can do now
is replace a bad government (we all agree that Saddam is
bad,we only disagree on how to deal with it), by another
government that will be also bad for the population.
They won't accept it!
Would you accept a new government that was given to you in a
bloody war, by a country that has been the state's enemy for
more than 10 years? I don't think so.

Nonsense, there is no ceiling on how much oil Iraq can sell
for food and medicine.

[what they say must be true--after all, why would a US
president whose cabinet is teeming with oil executives, &
whose campaign was funded by oil companies, want any of the
oil in Iraq?]

one reason they are after iraq is cuz they support the
terrorist. if saddam ever created a neuclear weapon do you
think he'd fire it? fuck no
he'd sell it to some dumbass like osama bin laden and they'd
fire it at us. then iraq could just deny any coorelation
with the terrorists.

has there ever been any proof of Saddam linked to
terrorists?

And is there any proof of him having nuclear weaponry (there
was one, Us gave it to UN, but later they admitted it was
fake).

links to International Terrorism! Because even Tony Blair
has said there's no evidence! but obviously YOU know
better!!]

Would I accept a government in which I had a say through the
ballot box, that was created by a foreign power which had
removed an evil dictator who had caused the deaths of
hundred of thousands of my countrymen for decades? Sure!

how can u be sure muslims think the same?

And the economic sanctions in the early years (before oil
for food) have caused thousands of Iraqi's to die as wel,
thank U US.
Why is it that UNICEF still report on high child mortality?
Partly because economic boycots.

look, there are 3 different groups of people in iraq:
kurds
soonies
some other that i can't remember

they are all mortal enemies. they're all muslim yet they
different. these people are enemies and when a kurd kills a
soony they feel no remorse becuz now they think they are one
step closer to heaven. these people are going to kill each
other until there is only one group left.

right now saddam is the best gov't cuz although he kills his
own people it could be worse. if we get rid of saddam, bush
will have to keep tons of soldiers over there for at least
10 years just to keep the peace. killing saddam isn't so
easy as just to blow his ass up. we have to have some kind
of plan for iraq after hes gone. this war will take a very
long time.

rubbish what good is no ceiling on how much Iraq can sell
for medicine when 90% of the medicine they need gets
confiscated for the fear of chemical weapons creation
bollocks...the last time I checked a vital component of
medicine is guess what?...chemicals..and also the cancers
being caused by the depleted uranium cannot be treated
thanks to sanctions cos guess what that involves...
chemothearpy

are you actually aware of the makeup of the Republican
administration their extensive oil industry background...and
further does anyone remember that wretched medival 3rd world
country called Afghanistan? Guess who replaced Mullah Omar
as the president an ex Unicol executive the very oil company
that was kicked out by the Taliban...is this all making
sense...saying that any move this American administration is
taking has nothing to do with oil is like saying men wear
condoms because they feel good...

send un inspectors to iraq to search through all his shit.

osama get his funds??? s(addam)omebody gave it to him

DUH...first caretaker government comes in then the oil
fields get denationalized then foreign investors from
multinational corporations come in and buy into these
denationalised assests, first for show certain percentage
limits are placed so like a many headed serpent these
corporations multiply into many subsidaries and dummy faces
which then buy the quota percentages and then all of the
sudden all of these are reconsolidated and as if by magic
the oil fields are owned by a multinational...oh lets stop
bullshitting ourselves a US corporation which then goes onto
generously contributing to election campaign funds of the
administration in power in the US etc etc etc

gov't., not just the usa but any country?

no, the gov't only let's us vote becuz it gives a since of
power in our gov't. basically i think the people have no
control in who would be president. this has some support
considering bush is our president.

Do I think the muslims think the same as who?

You say the sanctions before oil for food caused thousands
of Iraqi deaths. What you don't say is that oil-for-food was
on the table for the Iraqis to take advantage of in 1991
under UN resolution 706, but the Iraqi government refused to
accept it until 1996 under resolution 986.

if we go to war with iraq, we will fuck them up. there
won't be a need for a 'puppet gov't' in order fo us to take
the oil. the u.s. does not want to steal the oil. george
bush wants to ensure the the united states stays the world

wants to prove to the world that the usa is a force to be
reckoned with.

why arent the Iraqis entitled to the revenue from their own
oil, as far as I can see they are cooperating with the UN
inspectors on disarmarment so why not lift the sanctions so
they can trade their own oil with what countries they want
to trade with hmmm? They were a first world country with
people with higher living standards than Americans with
access to free health and education...hasnt the US got
enough access to oil already and has too much say on Free
Trade agreements with countries it calls friends like New
Zealand, using the excuse for war to dispense aid to
countries like Turkey so they can build miltary bases in the
Middle East

than what it was. look at afgahnastan, people protested
that too. but now a political system is actually trying to
