The evening started out with V/VM. They came on to the stage wearing pigmasks and started performing their highpitched ubertreble 'covers'(?!) spawning the likes of Robbie Williams and Dire Straits amongst others. More funny rather than good. But to me after twenty minutes it wasn't even funny anymore. I think V/VM just aint my bag baby. Black Dice; didn't like it. Bola / Meam Bola called in sick but did send his laptop over to Holland. So we had to do without him. Nevertheless he did rescue the evening by delivering a nice set. Meam plastered the screens with their stunning visuals. Gescom Dj's did their job and tilted the scale towards the positive side. I recorded Bola's Set with my Sony NetMD. I did miss the beginning though... D'oh! Good 40 minutes worth of Bola / Meam *laughs and winks at Phobes* *nudge nudge* *wink* |

Well, after two days I can conclude that although absent Bola /Meam where the definite highlight of the Toonfestival for me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to visit the festival on Sunday. As said earlier on Friday we got to hear v/vm, black dice, bola and gescom dj's. Didn't like the first two that much but Bola's laptop and Meam did a good job along with the gescom dj's We decided to go and see Pan Sonic (from Finland) and Suicide on Saturday. Pan Sonic was pretty cool. If anyone can hook me up with some info on Pan Sonic i'd be thankful. Suicide sucked major ass. Two old guys stuck in some kind of lsd/ego/trip and we were held hostage by them with their cheap keyboard and our hope for better acts after that. Our hope turned out to be false. They could've better hired two prostitutes and a nasal flute which would probably have been a lot more funny and cheaper too. Weakest edition of TOONfestival I've been to.
