I liked Pi better.

the downward spiral within RfaD is obvious pretty quickly -
Pi is more interesting in that aspect.

Both extremely awesome movies. Excellent soundtracks and I
love how both were filmed, i hope arronowsky (sp?) makes
more movies!

RfaD is one of my all time favorites. The only move that
left me 10 minutes dazed and confused in my seat after the
movie.
I like Pi also very much but that's more a 'figuring out'
movie while RfaD is more an 'experience' movie. Both have
great soundstracks (On Pi are some afx and ae tracks.

pi and requiem for a dream are both amazing, I cant decide
whcih I like better, requiem for a dream is hard to watch
though but the message just kicks you in the ass. in pi you
have to make your own conclusions, theyre both different so
theres no point in saying which is better.

i think itll be the best batman movie so far... just imagine
batman running down a dark spooky alley with that camera
harness effect.... MAN its gonna be good!

i much prefer pi. to me it communicates much more. though
rfad is probably the more intense of the two, i just didn't
ever feel the need to see it more than once. good film no
doubt. drugs are bad mkay

reported that aranofsky is no longer doing the batman film.

with respect towards all opinions...i really hated
requiem...too obvious for me...even the directing was
certainly flash but obvious...pi hurt my head and went
nowere....pi is more interesting than the film.

He's not making the Batman movie any more. It has been
blocked as they are planning to make another sequel to the
current franchise.

Pi is very good..but i think when it gets to the whole
religious thing with the name of God and it being "given" to
Max etc.. it loses a bit of its appeal... i don't know why
but i found this a tad unoriginal..

i studied classics at school and i find the mathematics is
the key to everything philosophy interesting (not
necessarily correct though)

requiem is not supposed to be "not obvious " its not mystery
or science fiction..its just a portrayal of the lives of
these people in a period of 3 seasons.. a sad story that's
really well wrritten, directed and acted (especially sara
my favourite character)

i found it really powerful and intense

thing a bout how we re all kinda addicts...heroin..
dark..fuckin...yeah dark and we could ,like, film it real
dark and then the mom ...i mean waow..etc...i just felt it
to be too "i am a weird film"... but reading stuff here i
feel like maybe i missed something and should watch it again

math is a numerical relationships... reality can be
represented by numbers... so philosophy can involve
mathematics, but in no way is math key to philosophy. there
are plenty of philosophers that aren't concerned too much
with numbers.

lol well if you really want to you can criticise just about
anything this way..
what's wrong with making a film with these features? how
would u have done it?

i didn't think this movie was weak or obvious

logic is the branch of philosophy that is shared with
mathematics i think.. in a way maths IS everywhere but
things can be random..not everything has to be a pattern i
think

I didn't like Pi, the plot was very weak. Other than Ellen
B's performance, and Marlon Waynes surprising me with a
display of acting talent, I thought Requiem was a very
average film, which has all been done before.

pain that comes with drugs better than Requiem?

trainspotting?

Trainspotting does an infinitely better job. Particularly
as most Heroine addicts don't look as though they have just
waled off a cat walk. And at no point in Requiem did I feel
the way I did when the baby died in Trainspotting.

turdburgers, i just saw requiem. i really enjoyed the
cinematography, the acting was excellent, overall a
beautiful film, but GOD, i don't think i've ever seen such a
depressing movie. let's end up in the worst possible
situations imaginable and think about happy memories at the
same time.

i think i'm gonna go watch eraserhead to cheer up.

Trainspotting.RfAD was my life for so many years....so I
find those films real difficult to watch...

But Rfad was quite a turning point for me....

whoa just watched requiem for a dream... brilliantly painful
:-/ maybe "glammed-up" but really well made, and the
music..... coooor, that was amazing - kronos quartet are
always doing such cool things.

Lee talked about the baby dying in trainspotting, which is
definately the lowest point of that film, but when the
camera zooms out on Harry in RfaD, on the hospital bed and
you're provided with proof of what you thought had happened
to him. I'm not sure how i held the tears in - if i lost my
arm I'd kill myself.

i think those "happy memories" at the end of the film are
meant to show a comparison between TV and reality.

i liked it. depressed me a lot tho, and would MOST
DEFINATELY not watch it 3 times in two days, that is
sickening dood.

the soundtracks is the best. that piano can transmit all
the raw and powerfull emotions from the movie in such a
simple and majestic maner.

Yeah, Requiem is incredible. I liked Trainspotting a little
more too... but the films are very different, different
techniques at getting a really affecting point across.

''I'm not sure how i held the tears in - if i lost my arm
I'd kill myself. ''

The arm thing... that disturbed me. If I lost my left, I'd
be really unhappy. If I lost my right, I'd kill myself.
