Anyone see this show last night? I know I am stating the
obvious but it has to be the worst piece of self
congratulatory marketeering I have ever witnessed. Also Ms.
Dynamite. I don't get it. I really don't. Have all musicians
get a clause in their contract where they have to say
something good about this thick no talent pram pusher? And
don't get me started on Coldplay. Oh, they're soo earnest.

here the generally pro war extremely conservative media
introduced it as an anti war slap in the face of Blair..

so I have no complaints...

and the music is.......... where?

i watched the Old Grey Whistle Test, BBC" 1970´s live music
show with Ry Cooder and The Who etc and there was more real
music in 2 seconds of that show than 10 years of the brits

I watched it....boy it was a TOTAL pile of shit.... someone
on the radio gave the Brit Awards as an example of "good"
globalisation--about how different cultures have been
integrated....I was thinking "Is he taking the piss or
what?" It was utter wank, and not even Georgey Dawes or Owen
Wilson could save it.

what do you expect from the Brits. I think it's got to the
stage where they're fairly meaningless awards. If you've got
BBC Radio1 on your side your sorted really. If you don't
happen to like that sort of music (shock! controversial)
then I don't think its something to get frustrated about.

I can't agree Ms Dynamite is generic, there's something
about her music that made me buy her album and I only
normally buy anything 'urban' once every two years or
something.

You bought the album because you were told to by the media -
simple as that.

I've just thought of a new name for the Brit awards - the
shit awards. I just thought of that. clever, eh? you see
what i've done?

Well, what did you people expect? Why watch it?

Nearly every day Bill posts a thread about a part of British
pop culture and usually something that was on TV the night
before. Why consume these things Bill if you beleive them to
be crap? Does it make you smart to watch these things and
then lampoon them 12 hours later?

And hands off Ms Dynamite. She's a lot smarter than you. I
know you're been to uni Bill but that doesn't mean shit.

Every time Ms. Dynamite opens her slab of a mouth I have to
close my ears. It's all cringeworthy talking about "respect"
and "be all you can be" and "giving somefink back". She is
indicative of the type of working class "talent show" scum
who got lucky. She's probably got some big fat sweaty bald
svengali pulling her strings while she pulls his knob.

So I was like stoned last night, and I don't watch TV. So I
was at someone's house and all like slagging the music off
while they watched the brit awards, complaining that it
wasn't asynchronous and shit. I went off on a long rant
until I silenced the room and realized I was gibbering
stoner style to people who would be more then a tad upset if
they knew I was stoned.

I saw 'Blue' with their flashy entry and imagined Aphex Twin
doing the same and started laughing uncontrollably. Fuck
pop.

All these minor celebrities trying to flog records by
opposing the imminent war really gets to me. Chris Martin
with his Amnesty International slogans on his hands. What a
fucking twat. Tee-total biblebasher. Take some drugs and
make some good music you goofy twat! Then maybe I'll listen
to you. Oh, they're being really controversial saying the
war's a bad thing. They're going against the government.
Twats. And as for ms. dynashite and her reworking of George
Michael's faith. I thought I was dreaming. I was cringing so
much in my seat at that piece of earnest bullshit that I had
to leave the room. It was so fucking bad. Oh, she's against
the war as well. Controversial. This is jonesy's hero. This
musical genius. Do you think she would have spoken out
against the war if public opinion was different? Would she
fuck. The crowd all cheered and decided they'd go out and
buy her record. result.

Because you're above all this 'war shit' right? You have
better things to say and do. Like glued to the TV box every
night like the people you hate.

Not once have you come up with an original thought of your
own. You are hardly going against the grain with your
mockery of popular culture.

therre is nothing wrrong with having an opinion on thing's,
and then doing something about it, but therre is a time and
a place and a TV show with half of the kid's in the contrry
watching is not it. i mean does Chrris Marrtin think that
anyone watching who has a prroperr opinion on the warr gives
a good goddamn what he thinks? people with a brrain have an
opinion alrready no matterr what some annoying musician
thinks.

otherr than that i like Chrris.

And then Davina "omnipotent" Maccolllllllic got annoyed with

saw her once when she was doing that dating game---we were

He's telling them.
They won't ask them to go and trry and collect the fact and
make an inforrmed descision to wetherr the warr is good orr
bad, it will a case of "chrris said its bad, it must be,
lets prrotest".
He is using his influence in a bad way i feel. I mean he's a
rrock starr not a norrmal perrson living in brritain, if all
goes bad, if Sadam attacks us in 10 yearrs time because we
dident stop him now, he can just piss off to some neutrral
