I am glad to see how you all share my opinion on this track

it is very nice yes. And catchy as hell! On that track there
is really no difference between the beats and the melody...
the sounds you hear are both beats and melody at the
same time.

this track was the first plaid track i heard, on john peel,
and i fucking loved it. i was fortunate enough to be taping
it, and listened to this track many times over. i then went
and bought double figure. spokes was dissapointing, but
seeing them live restored my faith.. all thanks to
mfaus..... :)

alright, you asked for it :)

the beginning is just pretty uninteresting granulated and
pitch shifted sound that are barely enjoyable to me, it just
showed lack of coming up with anything better on their
part--but its just a beginning, so at that point when i
heard it the first time i was still expecting some
awesomness.

then the drum lines themselves come in which are horribly
akward and not even that well made, and again it just sounds
like uninteresting granulated sloppy drums, accompanied by
an equally weak synth line that has no backbone to it. at
this point i went "well, hopfully it picks up"

it didnt. when the song "kicks into high gear", its rather
oldschool sounding i guess. a lot of "noise" hi hats flutter
about but manage to make the song (to me) sound nausiatingly
repetative. the kick drums and snares offer no depth
whatsoever, they are just very static, and bare minimum.
this is not always a bad thing, but in the case of mfaus it
just shoots itself in the foot. the acid synthlines that
come in, although they arent terrible (even though they are
preset synth sound you find on every VST instrument known to
man), still fails to offer any sort of interesting melodic
progression or depth that is often used in most plaid songs.
it just repeats itself and builds upon nothing with
absolutely no variety.

the song tries to save itself towards the end with some
degree, adding some more melodic layers on the top that's
quite good and add a good amouth of depth (finally), but by
the time it reaches that point i just stopped caring all
together due to the horribly bland and mediocre "oldschool"
sounding stuff that's before it. the distortion at the end
is well good though.

and thats why i guess! course im being really harsh on it,
but you asked so, there you have it :)

yeah, definitely. otherwise music wouldnt be very enjoyable
to me :(

most of the time when i hear something i like or don't like
i dont need to go into over explanitive reasons or anything,
but its not hard for me to get into that either.

but yeah, its cool that you guys dig the song, no problems.
each to their own
