CHALLENGE for Xltronic!

Give me 5 good reasons to pay even a single minute's worth
of my attention to µ-ziq.

After a few listens to randomly chosen tracks from various
albums, I decided his music is inferior, in many respects,
to that of aphex twin, autechre and squarepusher - who I
really don't even like that much.

5 reasons. (best tracks, albums, comparable to the work of
afx or ae)

GO!

track of his.

regret it.

no, i think thats not really too possibly, maybe, but highly
doubtly. beacuse you said you dont really like those other
guys (and id say dont compare because they are a bit
different, but very very generally the same style, kinda..)
but, you did say that so its probably because you dont
really like some of that or lots of that style. so generally
speaking you might not "get into" this sort of music as easy
as people who enjoy generally more stuff than you.

so you may not really get into it, i wouldnt really force
it. fav track is motorcycle track and autumn acid

does anyone know if uziq will be on xltronic? cos watmm
seems to miss uziq out, since its not in the big 4 of
sq.pusher/afx/boc/ae. shame really.

Bluff limbo and tango 'n vectif are really good experimental
albums. Particular tracks don't really spring to mind as i
don't read cd sleeves for electronic artists. The song
titles are by and large meaningless. But "roy castle"
springs to mind for some reason.

medication, medication, medication is what you need.

nononon.. I was saying I really don't like much of
squarepusher.. I really love aphex twin and I find ae's
music.. or whatever u choose to call it to be very
interesting.

I've heard/read bad things about 'royal astronomy' and I
deleted 'motorbike' a quarter of the way thru it's download.

paradinas. Best of both worlds.

half-assed

It does sound somewhat dated compared to both's more recent
work but it's worth investing in just for the cd cover
alone.

Wow theo, you come out and say that Mike's music is "his
music is inferior"

and then you want to ask him what he thinks about you
thinking his tracks are inferior?

WTF? How rude is that

Sometimes people just dont like certain things, its called:
personal preference/taste. Just because you dont like
something that a great many people do like does not make
you, dare I say.... inferior. It just shows that people are
different and not cloned robots walking the earth

But downloading three or four songs listening to them once,
then comming to the conclusion that you dont like a
musician, basing your opinion on those tracks... IMO at
least, is very closeminded and silly. Give it a chance,
listen to a full album

I really like Lunatic Harness

And I see (especially on this message board) people
compairing aphex twin, squarepusher, boc, µ-zig.... on a
popularity level.. like its a fucking race or something... I
dont know, its hard to explain. If the music sounds good
and you enjoy it, thats what music is all about

I guess what I am trying to say is, you should'nt have to be
forced to like something, that you don't like. But then to
come out and say someones music is inferior, and then want
the musician to comment on it, is rather wank

But I am sure they deal with people like that all the time,
so whatever I guess...

dude,, slow down. that was a joke. I didnt even know slodge
hops was actually the guy behind the music which
"IMOOO" is inferior - based on personal preference
(and obvious lack of innovation in contrast) - to that of
aphex twin.

I also used these terms to get people to respond with
tracks/albums that would sway my opinion in the opposite
direction. slow down. mr u-ziq isn't gonna give you any
brownie points for sticking up for him by the way.. so calm
down

I was listening to Tango this morning on the way to work,
man that is a GREAT album... esp. for being released in '93.
Brings nostalgia for me and at times sounds like old RDJ.

the melodies don't cut it, and the drums are completely all
