Anyone see this? I ain´t religious but it was class.....the first part of a 2 part dramatization of the "What if..." scenario in tthe title... on Itv
This manchester bloke suddenly realises he is the son of god, and , through the internet gets a few hundred people to come to his local football stadium one night and generates a shaft of daylight the width of the stadium to prove himself. The worlds media catches on and he then declares that us poor humans have really fucked up and have 5 days to sort it out "Why should I feed the worlds poor, you are able to do it yourselves!..... so sort it out"
Thgis part ened with him in the poub with his mates asling them to come round the world with him on his quest and someone blows the pub up but he shileds everyone as they finish their pints .. matrix style. Really good story but without being holy-joeish!

Yup, it was really good, something of a pleasant surprise considering it's on ITV.

I fucking missed it. I went round my mates and we forgot it was on. We watched Empire strikes back instead! Got home and it was just finishing. Saw that Pub bit and I was fucking, no pun intended, blown away. Eccleston is a quality actor. I hope there's an ITV2 repeat like they normally do.

I didn't watch it, I was taking online guitar lessons instead. Interesting premise but I haven't watched a serious ITV or BBC drama series/special.... well, ever. They're usually complete cobblers

nah... this was quality stuff. Eccleson was such a great choice for it and in a weird way it was very unreligios! Yer man bascially tells the press..... ".. and i don´t want the christtains saying how right they were. That means nothing now.. its all bollox. Its time to get things right now.....". Great stuff

I enjoyed the second part, the conclusion of which really gave me something to think about.

I thought it was blasphemous rubbish. I've written to ITV to make my incredulence known. It was almost as bad as that BBc programme that claimed Our Lady was not a virgin, but was raped by a Roman soldier.

but if there is no god or jesus then the whole thing was made up by the human spirit in the frst place =os
We're getting into one of those conversations again, one with no answers.
good program though
If there is a jesus and he's coming back, I see it as being like this.

yeah pOgO.. wasn´t it quite dark though? not a bible bashing thing OR a religious-nut thing.... just a great story and narrative driven show.. no preachyness or anything just a simple.. "imagine it was like that....." .... i can´t wait to hear what the critics say about it. See if theres any bullshit nonsense about the writers motives etc
