I must say that I am amazed by this update. It plays my
cd's with perfect sound and chrispy sharpness.
The layout has few improvements, but the file-support is
huge...

;D

i do enjoy it much as well

the best function, is when you minimize it, it can occupy a
nice space on your task bar with all the functions built in

yeah!

right click on the task bar, and go to "Toolbars" and you
should be able to click next to "Windows Media Player"

next time you hit the "-" to minimize it, it should occupy
the far right of your task bar and have all the features,
like play, pause, stock, skip track, etc.

It rocks. Some of the skins you can download are excellent,
too. Combine it with Digital Media Plus and it's fucking
awwwwesome!

It licks balls. I've installed and now it won't play loads
of my MP3's that it used to. The old version of Media Player
that, for some reason, they leave in windows plays it.
WinAMP won't play them now either. It claims they're corrupt
when I know that's a lie.

The new look is great, but like Giginger,it won't play some
of my files saying they are corrupt.Bah!

Anyway,back to 'Spiders last moment'......

I haven't encountered that yet... you saying that Media
Player convinces Winamp that the file is corrupt? That's
FUCKED up.

i reckon it's to do with all this MP3 stuff

i remember hearing that they're gonna start charging a
license for decoding mp3's to try to combat piracy...maybe
this is part or a ploy, you know, you download a new version
of a meadia player, inside the code it's set to corrupt any
existing mp3's on the system

Possibly. It's damn weird though as it's all the MP3s I have
by sonof and frenchbloke and intro-inspection by osymyso and
some others. I installed here at work and it's done the
same. I'm going to look for an MP3 codec pack. See if that
makes a difference.

Mr Jar: I am saying that it appears to have changed Winamp.
I've stopped using that anyway but I thought I'd try it and
I got lots of lovely squares and symbols or the names. Joy.
Maybe they are corrupt and the old one managed to read them
better.

I do like that minimise to taskbar thing though. Very fancy.
Only in Xp does that happen though. Some of the things are
missing in W2K, the crossfade thing is gone even though it
was in the Beta on W2K. Annoying as it still crossfades
tracks but I can't change that. 2 Many DJs sounds badly
mixed now. Other little things too. I keep getting script
errors in the Media Guide as well. But not all the time.
Actually it's just a crap thing. I may go back to version 8.
At least that played everything.
