great topic oscillik. Aren't mobile phones great? And so
handy. I'd be lost without mine. It's a samsung a800.

lol, i dunno whether to take that as sarcastic or what! lol

well it's handy for me considering my girlfriend lives
about2 hours drive away. It's the only way we can contact
each other

my biggest bill was £104

i'd be totally lost without mine too

is it pay and go or contract?

i've got a nokia one... it's small and has snake and space
invaders for games

It's a contract. If I used pay as you go I'd be bankrupt by
now. lol. I'm always on the phone, catching up with my mates
or just chatting about nothing in particular.

heh, even on contract i'm still kinda bankrupt!

i'm on an NVQ course and i only get £50 a week (i'm
unemployed)
£20 has to go to my mom for my keep, and the rest is mine

so i have to watch how much i use the phone

i've had to get a call charge limit placed on it of £40 so
i can't go overboard!

J70? that's the one with the cool wheel scroll thingy isn't
it?

well, i'm just bored and i thought, why not put up a post
about phones?

you know here at philips they've developed a system with an
infrared sensor instead of a wheel, it just sees your finger
go up or down and the menu moves along with ya.. very cool

(i don't know if i'm allowed to tell this, 'cause it's not
on the market yet..)

:D

bill_hicks? Do you find the radiation from your phone
particularily intense i wonder? Those brain cells bubbling
away, knocking into each other, turning to mush? Sounds like
it!!!!!

Quite right too. I could talk about phones all day. There's
just so many to choose. every time I buy a new one, there's
always another one I see that I want even more. lol. still,
keeps the market going.

yeah my mates got that one :)

i like the text messaging window....absolutley full screen,
fits a lot of characters.

i think that the rings/recorded rings are too quiet though

but it's a cool phone :)

i have to admit, i do prefer Nokia's, but now and again the
odd Motorolla or Samsung catches my eye!

yeah i know that the 8110 is the one that was usde in the
film, but i meant the 7110 because that's the one that has
the opening mechanism

the 8110 used in the film was modified to spring open

that banana fone is still cool though :)

but i want the spring open 7110

:)

Mine is so old I can't find a picture of it. It's one of the
first motorola ones to take off, but it's the size of a
brick. Pay as you Go for me as I only use about £2 a month
on it.

I never take it with me unless I'm expecting a call. I hate
to be "contactable"- you never get anything done.

yeah i know!!!!!

the OS on it is brilliant too, it's a derrivative of the OS
used on Psions

the memory on it is paltry though, only 4MB :(

but still a great phone

and real-time viewfinder for the camera

yep true.. when i watched the matrix i saw my 'good old'
phone (8110) and they let it pop open!
i thought 'what the f***' 'that's not possible with that
thing!!'

i even searched for it in my room and found it.. but i
didn't manage to open it like they did in the movie, haha,
now i know why
man, can't believe i actually tried that..

Get with the times Ceri. You don't want to be embarrased by
being seen with a big phone do you? I would die if someone
caught me with last year's phone. I would be like that guy
in the advert with the socks down his pants. That's such a
great advert.

me one...he never did :(

and still it scars me

I know- I recently read in a "men's magazine" that one of
the top 10 biggest turn offs in a man for women was having
an old mobile phone. I think actually it's probably the
reason my last girlfriend dumped me.

I only bought it as I didn't have a landline in my halls of
residence at university. The high cost of calls also deters
people from calling me with mindless "chitter chatter". They
keep it to the point.
