jaylib, the collaboration between whiteboy favorite
madlib* (aka quasimoto) and blackboy favorite jay dee (aka
j. dilla!), can now be previewed over at stonesthrow's web
site! click here to go directly to the 20 minute
audio stream of upcoming music from the jaylib album as well
as unreleased madlib productions.

*note: madlib himself is about as white as a black tea
kettle

come on you fuckers i know half of you like quasimoto, don't
front. just pretend instead of madlib collaborating it's
your beloved "quasimoto" and it'll all be ok.

i can't wait to hear this album... the jay dee produced
single "The Red" is so amazing.. i really think this will be
one of the best albums of the year. madlib and jay dee are
just monstrous producers; if jay dee's tracks are anything
like what he did on electric circus then i'm in for a
treat.

download again, but it's nice to know ppl who don't have
huge queues or will at least put you at the top of theirs.

okay... so now there's basically two different jaylib
albums... right? the one that people have been ablke to get
on the net for a long time with tracks like "the jam", and
"gorilla shit"... and then there is the official release
which they did because of the leak of the first album, with
tracks like "champion sound" and "the red"... is this what
happened...? cause i'm really not certain...

they changed a lot of it because of the leak

it's basically a whole new album with 2 or 3 tracks from the
original (the 2 singles and maybe something else). i
listened to the clips and they were ok but nothing
mindblowing. i'm going to get 'champion sound' regardless.

YO TITS!!!!!!
Jaylib "Champion Sound" is the daddy.
Its a heavyweight fucker of an album...

it is sweet as indeed, but i am used to the leak version and
haven't given the official one enough of a chance yet. i'm
sure it'll be good though, and the madvillain leak makes me
wet myself so i can't wait for that.

I do love "The Red" - but I can't get into the flow of the
rest of the album yet. Perhaps this hip hop is a little too
out there for me.

Personally, I'm currently addicted to "The Lost Tapes"...

It's the flow ... or lack thereof of the MCs...

anyone who hasn't heard the stuff that didn't get released
really, really fuckin' should... i shit you not... there are
some fuckin' sick as fuck tracks on here...
there's a lot of instrumental shit that got replaced by mcs
tracks on the album.... but there's also some of the most
wicked native tongues' style tracks...

offline theo himself from +- on 2003-11-08 15:46 [#00941466]

I wish the whole thing was co-produced.. it doesnt seem to
really be jaylib if it's one person producing the track and
one doing some others..

i realize now that the "original promos" of the JAylib album
that i grabbed off of Soulseek are not Jaylib at all... well
only really half of the project anyway... what it is: the
original madlib mix of Jay Dee's beats with him rapping over
the top and throwing in little madlibby samples all over the
place... this is what he sent to Jay Dee that got this
project rolling...
i realized that on windows media player it's listed as
"Altersample Retag and Die Hoes"... which may be a fake
title or something... as far as i know, these were the only
tracks floating around before the official release, labelled
as Jaylib.... or does someone have unreleased tracks with
Jay Dee rapping over Madlib beats?

I'm just playing champion sounds and anyone who's yet to to
check it get your shit together. Amazing production makes up
for mediocre MCing.
