Stakker EuroTechno...

WARPMART kindly popped this through my door on
Saturday...totally forgotten I ordered a copy...25mins of
old-school Acid (1989) for 7 quid...

I guess it'll sound a little simplistic to modern day ears
but this was cutting-edge techno back then & a big influence
on the then just germinating IDM sound...

I'm still trying to get my grubby hands on this wicked
record!

It hasn't dated at all - still sounds a lot fresher than
much so called "idm" released these days. You can still
finddance records made these days with that energy - mostly
in house and garage though.

I got this on Saturday on vinyl and CD. The first thing I
did was rip the CD to my MP3 player so this could be the
soundtrack to the weekend. I had a nice smoke and kicked
around all this sunny weekend with Eurotechno blasting into
my ears. I'm not going to try and review it but this CD was
new to me and it's great that Rephlex has given the chance
for this to be available. I need to give it a rest tho cuz I
don't wanna spoil it by over playing it.

Possibly the best acid I've heard in a long long time!

I got the video on my computer and that too is mad! :D

I hate those fucking 'old-school' 2CD set things you can get
for £5 in HMV and it's all like 'Let me be your fantasy'
and 'sesame's treat' and all that bullshit emulating rave
that falls flat on it's face compared to the real deal.

Positive-positive-positive electron.

strangley it sounds deeper and more complicated/sonically
exciting than most rather plidding electronic musci .
it's got amazing dynamic and the recording is very good -
it's trippy and energetic without being 2,00000 bpm ventian
snares type shit

It's my birthday soon Ceri and I don't know what I want.
Well I do know, but it doesn't exist. An iPod with built-in
microphone and line-in port.
But a trip to Warpmart sponsored by the parents would be
fresh too.
When's your bday ceri?

I just wish they'd released the Video on DVD....

That shit was os influential on me...a lot of my early CGI
animation work was triggered in some small way by seeing
those shapes etec....

Plus I see a big influence on AEs GG vid in it....

Yeah that looks even better. :>

Eurotechno has a lot of depth, it's like my imagination
started working again after I lost it listening to crap
generic Hoover over a bag of nails 'IDM'
