Either The Cures "Pornography" (the entire record, not just
the song) or Tori Amos "Choirgirl Hotel" :) I sleep

long. :)

i have no song for sleeping!

i don't want to fall asleep listening to a music, for me it
would be too bad... i wouldn't hear the end of the song, i
think it would be disrespectful towards the music/the
artist(s)...
i felt almost guilty when i fall asleep to "time machines"
by coil.

there are songs i like listening to in the middle of the
night though - one of them being "the perfect drug" by NIN.
SAWII and Time Machines are also night albums.

"White Light From The Stars In Your Mind (a paramechanical
development)" by Nurse With Wound is a very beautiful
surrealistic lullaby!
if you find it and if you have time, download it... :)

Anything without vocals really... when someone is singing i
start listening to that, and it keeps me awake :-)

But as long as it's instrumental, and i'm lying on my bed
with closed eyes... i will quietly slip into a deep sleep. I
even slept to Go Plastic once!

I think a good sleeping 'song' (or sound, I guess) would be
a record with nothing on it - just that popping sound.
Don't know where to get blank records from, though.

The Beatles
I'm Only Sleeping
Revolver (1966)

When I wake up early in the morning

Lift my head, I'm still yawning
When I'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream (float up stream)

Please, don't wake me, no, don't shake me
Leave me where I am - I'm only sleeping

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy
I don't mind, I think they're crazy
Running everywhere at such a speed
Till they find there's no need (there's no need)

Please, don't spoil my day, I'm miles away
And after all I'm only sleeping

Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time

Lying there and staring at the ceiling
Waiting for a sleepy feeling...

Please, don't spoil my day, I'm miles away
And after all I'm only sleeping

Keeping an eye on the world going by my window
Taking my time

When I wake up early in the morning
Lift my head, I'm still yawning
When I'm in the middle of a dream
Stay in bed, float up stream (float up stream)

Please, don't wake me, no, don't shake me
Leave me where I am - I'm only sleeping

oh..
i forgot Nirvana Unplugged.
i like it especially for last of entire .

plateau
Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau
Some belong to strangers and some to folks you know
Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand
To beautify the foothills and shake the many hands

The nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop
And an illustrated book about birds
You see a lot up there but don't be scared
Who needs action when you got words

When you've finished with the mop then you can stop
And look at what you've done
The plateau's clean, no dirt to be seen
And the work it took was fun

Well the many hands began to scan around for the next
plateau
Some said it was in Greenland and some in Mexico
Some decided it was nowhere except for where they stood
But they were all just guesses, wouldn't help you if they
could

OH ME
If I had to lose a mile
If I had to touch feelings
I would lose my soul
The way I do

I don't have to think
I only have to do it
The results are always perfect
And that's old news

Would you like to hear my voice
sprinkled with emotion
Invented at your birth?

I can't see the end of me
My whole expanse I cannot see
I formulate infinity
Stored deep inside me

LAKE OF FIRE
Where do bad folks go when they die?
They don't go to heaven where the angels fly
They go down to the lake of fire and fry
Won't see them again till the fourth of July

I knew a lady who came from Duluth
She got bit by a dog with a rabid tooth
She went to her grave just a little too soon
And she flew away howling on the yellow moon

Now the people cry and the people moan
And they look for a dry place to call their home
And try to find some place to rest their bones
While the angels and the devils
Fight to claim them for their own

That's my song for sleeping when I'm ill.

This will probably sound like spam- but I'm quite partial to
my own track, "the drowning song" if I'm just putting one
track on repeat. If it's a whole album, The Caretaker- A
Stairway to the Stars is probably my fav. then SAW2
