I like SOAD. Serj looks like a terrorist though...

Oh God... just listening to it now. That's awful. Not even
funny.

go here and start reading where it begins:
“I tried to find some cleverly worded way to express my
disgust with your "Women in Rock" issue, but what I have to
say is really quite simple: You guys are completely
retarded.

anything.

I wasn't sure it was possible, but she mangaged to make SOAD
and herself look even worse.

LMAAAAAOOOOO !!!
this is just so hilarious
but i still wanna say avril lavigne is really too much
virtualy present on this mb...no?
and i didnt know she was a punkette =)
that sounds credible, ill need a second listening !
joooooking :)

I admire her for taking on this challenging piece and
cementing her place as the modern riot grrrl punk. This may
not do justice to the original, but considering the live
setting I think it's excusable. Avril is the nu-punk
extroardinaire and I say kudos to her for jumping into the
water and paying tribute to system of a down's classic song.
You go girl!

:)

uviol: i HIGHLY recommend you read the essay-letter i linked
above. avril is nothing but product and it's sad that music
fans have already forgotten real female musicians (as
opposed to industry-created phantoms like britney and this
britney-with-a-guitar and a faux pas "punk" attitude)

Oh well, after being subjected to her album by this girl who
drives me to work every sunday, i can fully say that it
doesnt do much for me. I can see why people like it, but i
find it rather uninspiring and boring. I wont say its bad,
because music isnt bad, its just not as good as some music.

Yes, singing in a confident, aggressive manner doesn't
really have the same impact when you're a tiny 16 year old
girl.

To have "attitude" I think you need to be slightly
threatening. Her doing it would be laughable, if it wasn't
so bad.

First of all, are we sure that it's really her?

Second, it really sucks. Really, really sucks.

/goes back to listening to Mastodon

they "mangled the fucking song".
