vice city is cool. bigger area to explore, more/cooler
vehicles, nicely complex story, pretty sweet 80's theme but,
essentially it's the same game as GTA3. if you liked three,
you'll like vice city alot. but, if you weren't impressed
with GTA3, VC probably won't blow you away either.

So I just found out that GTA Vice City is coming out on PC.
From all the new feature, you now get to shoot out tires,
drive motorcycles and go into buildings.

Am I a nerd or are there any other people in here who are as
excited as I am?

GTA has had its day. It's tired and dull. I prefer splinter
cell. It's turned gaming on its head. A shoot-em-up where
you can't actually shoot. Or run. or fart. Or do anything.
But there is something quite arousing about the fact that
you can see them but they can't see you. I'm gonna buy me
some infa-red glasses, I think.

I'm looking forwards to it too, but I'm not as fussed about
MP3s or skinning for it as I was with GTA3, I reckon playing
with them would mess up the theme of it.
Talking of GTA 3, you've just reminded me I need to DL some
new cars for GTA3 (including the Ford Ka and Mini Cooper). I
am looking forwards to: better texturing, further draw
distance, better audio, higher resolution and better frame
rate, not to mention the vastly superior controls of the PC
version :D

Bill Hicks: Night Vision googles aren't that expensive... so
long as you don't mind mono ones that are hand held, you can
get them for under £400. I'm tempted by splinter cell, but
I've heard it's not really much different to "Thief" on the
PC. What format are you playing it on?

It's on my PS2. I wouldn't even entertain the idea of buying
it for my shed of a PC. I can hardly get fruityloops to run,
never mind a game.

What's this about being able to download new cars for GTA3?
A Mini Cooper? Wow. that sounds like enough to play this
game through a third time.

Unofficial fan made ones, but some are pretty professional.
Only for the PC mind... go to www.gouranga.com for more
info.

Bill: Yes, I've heard mixed reviews about the PC version,
seems I'll get it for GC if I get it at all.

Talknig of GTA3 modding anyone with the PC version should DL
this
808 state skin. What more reason do you need to get the PC
version?

gta3 looks waaaay cooler. vice city is cool because there's
more to it but it is too flashy and bright looking and the
radiostations on gta3 are better.

One of my favourite games is Vice City.. love everything
about it. I guess I'm just a sucker for amazing atmosphere
in games, and Vice City is overflowing with it.

I love playing this game. I'm going to buy it for my ancient
PC even though I'll have to have everything at the lowest
quality till I get a new one.

It was brilliant the first day I got it, parking my car on
the docks and watching the sun come up as Squarepusher -
Tundra blared out of the stereo.

:D .. makes me want to attempt to get it to work on my shite
PC.

That's what I'm talking about with atmosphere.. I love it!

some of the easter eggs on the game are classic
eg the old black lady with the yellow head band is not
wearing underwear
& you can fly under the city

Once I get bored of Wind Waker and Monkey Ball (just
arrived!) I'll set to with some more customisation of GTA3.
Might be fun to try to work some modding into my computer
graphics module next year. I've seen a map editor that looks
pretty tight... might be fun to try to recreate bits of my
home town and replace the cars for UK ones.

I was playing GTA3 with a Dubya Bush skin last night. Makes
the game that much more entertaining :D

Out on PC tommorow folks!

I'm not going to buy a copy quite yet as I want to play the
demo and see what it runs like on my machine first. Also
Enter the Matrix should arrive tommorow and that will be
taking up all my gaming time :)

Comes out tomorrow here. I'm leaving work earlier with an
excuse that I need to go to the bank and renew my apartment
loan :D (well, I actually have to do that but not by
tomorrow heheh)

Bank stuff sounds important so my chief can't really say
no.

it's eta roughly 4 hours now as it stands, i liked parts of
gta3, but was annoyed with the cameraview when the character
was outside of his car, and couldn't move it nicely if I
used the topdown view instead
