Tapes are useful

the humble forgotten cassette tape is fast becoming a dying
format,.. but despite critisism, I think it still has its
uses,.. most of which I will now list

* - quick recording
most stereo systems have tape decks, most of them with the
"record function" and most people have their sound coming
through their stereo (people that are anal about sound
quality anyway) so,. if you were playing online/normal radio
and they had a special on AFX or something,. Tape It!,..
it's a lot easier than setting up a minidisc player or
getting a profram to record on you comp,

* - Avaliability
let face it,. we all have a tape player somewhere, whether
we wanted it or not,. most cd players in cars still have a
tape deck, and every living room stereo has a tape deck,.

* - blackouts
cheap tape players run on batteries and are readily
avaliable ,.. I suggest you buy one in case of unwanted
blackouts,.

* - sampling
ever wanted to show your friend a tune but his internet was
down, he was ground from leaving his house,. and you didn't
have a cd burner (extreme circumstances I know) well just
play the song,.. tape it ,. and cart the cassette over to
his loft,

* - theft
ever had an anal friend that didn't want you to take any of
his music? well just pop the tape into his player and hit
record,.. tell him to play the song you want to play,. and
retreive it when he goes to the loo or something,.

* - unbreakable
cassette are like minidiscs,. you can use them as shuriekns
and they'll still play,.

* - disposable
people have spare tapes lying around all the time,. just ask
if you can have all the tapes they don't want,. and there
you go,.. more tapes for use

umm,.. there was more but I can't think of them now,. but
basically tapes rule,..

I would be if,..
A) If I had plenty of minidiscs (which I don't)
B) If my minidisc player wasn't broken

I got lots of old hardcore tapes

Plus who used to make tapes when they were kids? Like
recording stuff off the radio and pissing about recording
yourself trying to be funny etc...

My car stereo only has a tape player so i record an album on
each side of the tape everyday so i have something new in
the car.

Tapes are very useful for quick and easy recording which i
like and the can be used tons of times.

The only thing that i don't like is when a certain player
eats them

yeah, I wouldn't be suprised if they designed the new
systems to spit out all the old formats on you, kinda like
the same way windows works nowadays, boasting backward
compatibilty, but only barely managing to do so..

recorded my first ever tunes to tape (as opposed to wav
file) cos i couldn´t figure out how to stream to disk so i
just plugged my recordable walman in. i love them tunes!
i like the undigital hiss too!
