and dont mix it up with 'what's your favorite album, or what album has most influenced YOU'.
it has to be as objective as possible.

Just because you don't like rock music, the Beatles are insigifigant? Nah.
I guarantee you if you put John Lennon, Timbaland, Richard D. James, and a man with a violin in a pit and told them to fight to the death, John would win. That's all that matters, pit-death-fights. Case closed, I win this argument.

there can and never wil be the most infuential album of all time - its a totally stupid and impossible thing to try and qualify as the world is too big - what parameters do you have - pleasure, technical influence - how many children were concived when it's played in someone's home , sales, band size and instruments played - race of the mem bers - drum patters?

to me, the most influential artist: the artist that is stated the most often by artists saying they/he/she has influenced them. talking about music.
half the time when i read about artists stating the biggest influences, the beatles are constantly out there being mentioned.
OF COURSE we'll never find out empiracally who the most influential srtist is, for the same reason we'll never know what the best song is.

I can put away a good number of dark English pints and feel great, even lucid at the time but it's hell the next day. I think I need one extra hour of sleep on Saturday afternoon for every pint I stow away on Friday.
