I am on sector 4 right now in fusion, spent quite a while
playing this morning as well as some harmony of dissonance
which I need to catch up on. i really like fusion a lot, a
lot less frustrating but I think more fun because of it.
dont get me wrong super metroid is awesome but sometimes I
just got stuck for TOO long.

I got a fusion question, after you play through all 6
sectors is the game over with or is there more?

There's more, of course you'll have to backtrack and
re-visit all the different sectors with new gear, find new
areas in them, etc.

That's my favorite part about Metroid.. I love
backtracking. There's no better feeling than when you
realize you can suddenly get in that door. Fuck, Fusion is
just as good as Prime. I'm having the time of my life..
I've been sleeping on the couch and haven't changed my
t-shirt or undies in 3 days.

If anyone wants to check out the movies for Capcom's new
gamecube games go here:
http://www.capcom.co.jp/gamecube/english.html

Resident Evil 4 looks amazing.....best looking gamecube game
yet.

And Killer 7 looks sweet too. Plus it has a cool song being
played during the movie.

It's a done deal, signed sealed and delivered as of two
hours ago. I beat the game at about 80%, so I'm going to
shoot for 100 before I really proclaim victory. Best game
I've ever played.

I played this game for 9 hours straight on Sunday... my save
is 17 hours in all, with more to come as I get every item.

I think I'll need an FAQ for this. :-/

I've finished prime with %95, and it's so very good. The
bossess (especially the last one) seemed to be alot more
challenging than windwaker (and that's on easy!)
I have high expectations for the sequel, ..bring it on!!!

are they important to finish the game?

I haven't had a chance to unlock the original NES title but
I have used the Suit from Fusion in Prime.
(It's pretty slim looking with no huge sholderpads)
As for missing out on stuff I'm pretty sure that it would
make no difference apart from what you look like in the 3rd
person shots.

Prime is pretty cool, but it pales in comparison to the one
and only Super Metroid ('troid III) for SNES. Now that game
is a masterpiece, in ever sense of the word. I have beaten
that game 4 times... 3 on the actual console and once on the
rom, and most games I don't ever play again after beating
once.

I guess fusion must be pretty tight too, but i dont like
extended play on handheld games.. never cared for the
ergonomics (or lack thereof) involved. I want Gamecube, with
the GBA adapter for it, so i could play it on my
bigscreen... now that would be awesome.

I recently did the second connection bonus and now play the
original NES version! woohoo,
it feels alot harder than the others without a map,
also it's quite a shame that they couldn't tweak the engine
a little so there would be no slowdown...

a crazy and sad fact for the metroid prime fans:

Autechre was commissioned to do a full soundtrack for it,
did it, finished it, it was accepted by Nintendo and then at
the last minute someone higher up the chain of command heard
it and said no, Xed it and replaced it with regular cheeze
nintendo music. Sad huh? That might have made me buy Game
Cube. Not much chance of that now since I just got a PS2.

great game, yeah. definitely one of the best i ever
played... the music, the gameplay, the environment, going
back in previous "levels" to complet it (so simple but great
idea), everything...

(i understand you guys being totally fanatic about it ^^)

i'm a bit taking my time, i'm in the Phazon Mine now... it's
starting to get hard (i was so hoping for a save point when
i got to level 2 of Phazon Mine, but i got killed before i
found any)... =)

something i like too is that you can guess that Samus is a
woman in this version, you can actually see her eyes, hear
her voice when hit etc. - and even the shape of the armor
suit isn't gorilla-like...

i tried Super Metroid on snes too on emulator but i don't
like it that much really. besides i'm ashamed, i'm stuck at
the very beginning... *' _ '*

yes, metroid prime is one of the best games on gamecube. i
was really skeptical about it when i first heard the news
that, one, it was going to be an FPS, and two, it was being
developed by an Austin development house who had only made
one game before - then i played the demo and was blown away.
the way they translated this action/platformer to FPS was
seamless. most of the boss battles are great too! that, and
being able to scan things adds a whole new level to the game
- there's a story there too, you just have to find it.

i've heard metroid prime 2 is already in the pipeline.

one thing that pissed me off while playing prime was i was
going for all the log book scans, and i missed all but ONE -
the Ice Shriekbat, which only appears up until you beat the
Sheegoth, then you never see it again. I was SO pissed!

Well, Metroid Prime 2 is officially called Metroid Prime 2:
Echoes... I'm hoping for just Metroid: Echoes. It sounds
tacky the other way.

Looks good. Not much better than Prime... I think that
pushed the Gamecube to the limits, basically, gorgeous game.
Prime 2 has something called The Ing, which there's
controversy over. It may be a new alien race, like the
Space Pirates, or it may be a group of armored soldiers with
their own agenda. There's a screenshot of a silver played
guy that looks KIND of like Samus, shooting out of a
spaceship.

Screenshot- my only gripe here are the colored icons on the
bottom of the screen... UGLY. I think they'll change it back
to the smooth Prime interface, though.

might be one of those guys from the intro in Metroid Fusion
that were accompanying Samus. I'm a fucking geek.

I'm gonna force myself to play Metroid Prime sometime.
I mean I bought the game with really high expectations...
took it home, put it in the gamecube immediately and started
playing... but I couldn't get into it at all :-/

I really feel like I'm missing out, everyone keeps
saying it's one of the best gamecube-games ever.... and I
played it for 2 hours, got bored and haven't touched it
eversince.

On the other hand I adore Metroid Fusion & Zero Mission.
Already they have entered my list of best Nintendo-games
ever. Both absolutely brilliant. Plus I recently replayed
Super Metroid... and that one was awesome too. So I feel
like I'm ready for Prime now. Still being in a metroid-state
of mind a little bit. Yeah. I'm just gonna start from the
beginning again and force myself to like it this time :-p
