Afx community breaking

In all of my 200-and-something years on this message board
i have noticed one thing and one thing only, and this is
that the mb never felt as safe, welcoming, or stable as it
did when i first arrived. I have seen maidens turn to
witches and wizards to fools. I have watched the sturdy
structure of the aphex twin community start to crumble away.
Maybe someday we'll learn to deal with these goblins, but
for now I will be confined to rocks and sand, beneath the
Billy Goats Gruff.

yeah, you're right.
There is something wrong.

Its so longer as welcoming, not many people respond to
me,even if i do.I do find that certain folk only talk to
certain people, not that i care or anything. But what can you
do...............

I've been around this MB for quite a while as well.... and
I've seen much worse periods than now. It goes up and down -
all the time.

So, I have to disagree with you.

I have to agree with McCabe

When I came on this MB about 1,5 years ago (I guess..), it
was more welcoming then now; people were more open-minded I
think.

I've been here for ages but i never post.

I've been here for ages but I've never really known anyone,
and no one really knows me (here) so I spose it's never
really felt like "home" to me.

nice board though.

I think a similar thing is happening to watmm aswell.
lots of ppl have moved to another board

so, what do You do to welcome new people? what do
You do for making this a better place? or are
You relaying on other members?

sido dyas said something very true in a previous
post:

Ask not what
aphextwin.nu can do
for you , but what
you can do for
aphextwin.nu.

Phobia: I totally agree with that.
I'm not posting here a lot, though, but my opinion is some
sort of guess, also concluded from the difference of the
topics (and the people) I found here 1 year ago and those
things now.

well I have been here for quite a while and all I can say to
that is
bollocks...

a community is an organic entity..just like Pobiazero here
say, there will be ebbs and flows ups and downs..people
getting interested in some people, topics issues etc, and
people losing interest in some people, topics and
issues..some will be more popular than other, others more
annoying than others others more popular AND annoying than
others..all the rules of social dynamics that apply in
offline communities..will all apply here..only the
expeirence is more concentated and substrated..

I mean I barely ever get more than a few replies to anything
I post..but those replies are usually just enough to lift me
up out of the dumps..or anger me but in whatever way alter
my mood, give me a different experience....which is one of
the motives behind coming on a board such as this and
posting

Yeah, but who had expected Amonbrune to act this way? I
mean, he was just another polite kid to me. I still have my
doubts about this having been somebody else...

I've said this before in a different thread - this is quite
a large community of quite well-versed people.
there will always be a person who has some criticism on a
topic you start up, and they won't be afraid to voice their
opinion.

but thats what happens on a healthy messageboard..!

the old v4 board. Everyone thought it would fall to bits,
but its still here and just as strong.

well i was here since v4 from about feb/march last year but
i went away because not many of the original crew remained
here for v5 plus i was away for about 3 months and while i
was away the board changed over and then there were all
these new people and i didnt know how to cope with it and i
got really stressed trying to keep up with the messages and
nobody would respond to my posts and i got really depressed
so i went to tefosav. sorry

its the fact that we need mods to maintain spamming and crap

i also can't believe i was a part of the spamming, myself.

I think you guys are suffering from peter pan syndrom. the
MB is loosing its glory and wonder the more and more time
you spend around it. its loosing its stablity cause you
know more about the people and such then you did when you
first joined. it happens to everything....

Yeah he's banned.... unfortunatly.

When he relised he was in a bit of trouble with Jand, he
just thought he'd better go out in style... hence the 40
topics.

I have been a member of many messageboards. I have to say
this is THE absolute best one I have ever been on.

No post unanswered unless it is pure shit.

There is a smart and diverse crowd.

Beautiful and efficient design.

I don't have a whole lot of room to talk, being so new to
the forum, however i can say that this has been my most
positive msgboard experience in my many years tied to this
box.

I spent the other day reading pages and pages of older
messages. Most of those people were assholes (nearly all are
long gone).

Furthermore, threads like this one can only serve to
strengthen ties within the community.

blabidybla blah...

this MB is not going down the toilet...especially if we all
keep one important thought in MIND.

respect for each other and for the MB!

if that golden rule is followed it will continue to prosper.

sure there will be trolls and people going crazy.....however
those too will pass....ehehhe

i find it to be filled with intelligent people who i've
learned quite a bit from, that is my biggest compliment to
the designer and the people that make up this place!
