i found this on the team sleep message board. i only have
56k so i havent finished downloading it. its apparently the
unmastered advance of their cd:

http://metheny.ath.cx:81/~dicima/stuff/Team_Sleep-Untitled-
Unmastered-Advance-2002-SGE.rar

people with fast connections tell others how it is.

It's a winace file, the tracks are numbered, but I can't
seem to get it to extract - there's an error somewhere. It
might be cause my trial period has finished, I'll have a
look.

on another note, you like tool and tomahawk right? have you
seen em live yet? im goin on the 30th. i missed tool last
time they were here with king crimson. it should be really
good. except i dont like this whole arena touring business
theyre doing.

Hmm, I think you're talkin to me and not Tits here...
anyway, I've seen Tool but not Tomahawk. Tool were pretty
damn good when I saw them, but it was at Ozzfest and not
their own show. Tomahawk I can live without seeing, they're
just ok to me =o) And yeah, arenas are terrible places,
gimmie a 1000 capacity club anyday

offline MachineofGod from the land of halo's (United States) on 2002-08-19 20:36 [#00356082]

what makes tool think they can play these anyways? they
pretend to act unmaintstream but somehow play at arenas.
and tool always plays with unkown bands and having
independent bands in arenas is just not right.

i dunno who he's talking to, but i saw tomahawk + tool last
weekend and they were both excellent! have fun at the show!

i hope you're kidding? just cos they're popular enough to
need to play large venues doesn't mean they have to have
budweiser beer banners and multi-platinum opening acts.

offline MachineofGod from the land of halo's (United States) on 2002-08-19 20:41 [#00356105]

how many people fill these arenas? i cant imagine that many
people going to a tool concert. i mean they dont sell out
right or even come close do they? i only know like 1 person
that likes tool(that lives by me) i just cant see this
connection happening. but ill see on the 30th wont I.

offline Jarworski from The Grove (United Kingdom) on 2002-08-19 20:42 [#00356106]

Yay! I got it to work, it's 192k/s, it's all titled
correctly (I guess, they have titles anyway), and Mike
Patton is on one of the songs!! SHARED IF ANYONE WANTS IT!

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-08-19 20:43 [#00356107]

thousands. they're a lot more popular than you think...

offline MachineofGod from the land of halo's (United States) on 2002-08-19 20:43 [#00356108]

when i said "that many people" i didnt mean hardly any but i
meant like the amount that fills the arena.

bear in mind this isn't actually an unmastered advance but
instead a cd-r of unfinished demos that some bonehead gave
to a fan

Well, should be a nice indicator of what they're doing....
first track, 'Natalie Portman' (!) is very mellow

but half of these so called tool fans arent real tool fans.
theyre people who associate tool with disturbed and linkin
park and that crap. theres not nearly as many hardcore tool
fans, if you know what im saying. its hard to tell you
exactly what i mean though.

i don't think that's true at all, tool have been playing
arena shows since 1998 or earlier.

offline MachineofGod from the land of halo's (United States) on 2002-08-19 20:50 [#00356132]
Points: 3088 Status: Lurker

have they? i still think they should play a little smaller
venues than that. i mean they play where like bruce
springsteen and rolling stones and britney spears play.

offline titsworth from Washington, DC (United States) on 2002-08-19 20:52 [#00356139]
Points: 14550 Status: Lurker

they played a mini-tour of smaller venues in 2001 and it was
disastrous. tickets sold out in as little as 15 seconds (in
atlanta) and thousands of counterfeit tickets were made and
confiscated. thousands of people were turned away from the
tour, having spent hundreds of dollars on bootleg tickets.

i know it wouldnt work on smaller venues, but i dont like
the atmosphere of arenas at all. music shouldnt be played in
them.

i totally agree. that's why i like what radiohead did with
their amnesiac tour - scenic outdoor venues throughout
europe and america! that way thousands of people can come,
the sound is good, and you don't have to look at basketball
banners.

yeah, last summer sucked for me. i was planning on going to
radiohead and tool the whole summer and didnt go to either.
i hope radiohead comes again because they hadnt been here
for 3 or 4 years since last year.

i saW A perfect cirlcle, the first live performance they
did. that was the first date of the fragility tour in
cleveland. it was excellent. nin's lighting and screens
were awesome. this was at an arena and was not even close to
selling out. very few people.

Oresetes: "Pull me into your perfect circle"

3 Libras: "Threw you the obvious..."

They're not big over here really. Not like in the US, or
like Tool. They were played in the cafe in Eastenders once
tho!

i don't know about that. the team sleep started off with the
song "teenager" on white pony, that should be a good
reference point for you.

chino himself described it as like portishead with his
voice. i was wondering if it was true. yeah i heard that
about teenager too. which deftones cd you like best?
