unfortunately people like steve from Chaicago run the world
.

The blind led by evil conspirators.
The willing victims of discord
fear for the future,
these blind rabid sheep will make a desert out of everyones
homes and then yours and finally their own.

steve , you are a moron .

unless you're being sarcastic , in which case ha ha.

Why are you equating defence of your family with aggression
of 'your' nation ? Thats nazism if ever I saw it

Ahhh.... the evidence of thoughtless patriotism droning is
right here!

Steve that is an unfortunate thing to hear you say. It also
promotes an exagerated form of an american stereotype. I
only hope your reference of family disputes are conflicts
with your parants and hopefully you don't have children.

To disagree with you government is NOT unpatriotic! Don't
think that because someone speaks out against important US
gov. actions that they are anti-US. You speak like you have
been completely manipulated.

I am from Canada and you can bitch slap Canada all day. I
would likely agree with you. Opposing views and decention
are vital. Don't vilify people for it.

even the Netherlands have had bit of a scrap with the US in
the last two months.

it was proposed that the international war tribunal would be
situated in The Hague here. now Mr.Bush & friends passed a
law that if an american g.i. would stand in court here,
America could invade the Netherlands..

jesus.

then there was an article in a newspaper about a New York
professor (sadly can't remember his name..) who said that
the US see Europe as a third world country.

I must apologize..when I say Americans..I do honestly mean
the current regime and the Intelligence, Millitary
Industry...

Yeah voting is an option but you have to admit that Bush got
elected under highly dubious circumstances..half the country
didnt vote for him..and ever since then he has been holding
the terrorism and war as a Sword of Damocles over the
nation's head..with total support of the media...

are total fucking basterds... i bet in 20 years time only
then will we here the atrocious crimes commited to afghani
people......

i can't believe that the american people are so oblivious to
their government doing such crimes and more...

Terrorism : The unlawful use or threatened use of
force or violence by a person or an organized group against
people or property with the intention of intimidating or
coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or
political reasons.

is this terrorism... indeed... the sole purpose for america
taking over afghanistan was to get their greedy hands on
their oil.... read about it

My next life won't be here if I play my cards right. This
world sucks ass and I need off it soon.

I'm guilty of submitting to the shinny things sometimes,
like money, products etc. But I'm slowly changing. If you
thick discussing all this is in vein it's not because people
like Jonesy open my eyes to many things each time. I was so
dumb and when I woke up it was amazing. I can't believe how
much shit the ones in power get away with. The more people
whom wake up the better and anyone sleeping will simply fail
to live. I'm happy to learn all I can so if I do anything in
my life its pass on these words so the message don't get
erased by the system.

their power in whichever way they choose ; without demanding
accountability , ethical practice & openness to criticism
("if you're not with us you're against us"; ie a terrorist )

People like you are freeloaders who spend life ignorantly
spoonfed a version of reality that suits the agenda of the
powerful .

You condescendingly state to board members that its our
choice to be 'consumed with hate.' We aint , we just have

Bush is filling with hate & he's consuming the planet with
its hate.Wake up brother !

*sighs* I've seen Fight Club once and it was a long time
after I had my beliefs. I have it on video not DVD. I don't
drink Cola because it contains too much sugar and rots
bones. I like to drink 'water' pure and simple. It hydrates
me without mentally stimulating caffeine and helps my body
work the way it should. Water also speed your metabolism up
2%

So stop trying to psyche me out because you are far from
capable of it.

Necessary evil. I am forced all day to confirm to those
standards and I can't help it. One of the reasons I'm so
annoyed. Computers allow people with like minds to
communicate so we can use this against anyone we desire.
Your arguments are getting very weak Steve. I mean drink a
cola... Water is so much better. It's actually good for you.

offline steve from chicago on 2002-08-08 09:32 [#00341272]

Remember the days when you drank Coke because it tasted
good? This is a good example of what i'm talking about. One
day you decided to stop drinking Coke because of the sugar,
the rotting of bones (which will happen eventually), and
whatever other health reasons. You'll deprive yourself of
the sweet taste to what.. prolong the life you're living?
Why.. if you're apparently suffering in it? I'm young; i'm
going to drink Coke, eat greasy cheeseburgers, buy certain
clothing simply because of a label, buy a certain car
because it 'gets chicks', say "fuck off" to homeless people
who beg me for change. I do what I want. In many ways i'm
freer than many of you. You get too caught up in trying to
do the right thing; I say just do what's best for you. Fuck
everyone else. Do what brings you peace of mind.

No, it's not necessary. Don't give me that shit. You don't
"need" a computer. There was life before the invention of
the home computer and there will be life after it becomes
obsolete. You choose to be on a computer. Plain and simple.

The assumption that technology or consumer goods are part of
the problem we are outlining is really confused. Its not
computers etc that are the problem but the relations
surrounding the production and distribution of the means of
survival or even entertainment.

You can try and ignore it and look after number one but at
certain points in your life you will experience yourself up
against those in power, whether you wish to acknowledge it
or not.

My outlook IS shaped by what's best for me. Whereas you have
convinced yourself that you can carve out a life for
yourself untouched by the social relations of our society.
In this sense YOU are the idealist.

I use a computer to talk to people who think the same as me
so I can develop my knowledge and yes download music. I try
to enjoy life as I avoid what I can. I don't drink cola
because sweet = nothing. Since I started relying on water to
live I feel fresh and healthy, Cola gave me stomach pains
and I had to stop. Your argument is weak and rather lame. I
don't deprive myself of the things I like and want to enjoy
life but I ensure I do my best not to do it at the expense
of others. I'm in this world so I can't help but absorb some
of it. No great cure but the fact I can communicate with the
likes of Jonesy makes me stronger then you and the fact I
can avoid the simply wrong gives me peace of mind and more
enjoyment then polluting myself with sweet flavor chemicals.

I admit, I can be a slave to the system. I smoke (re;
polluting my body. Chemically addicted to nicotine from a
long time ago, trying to quit etc.). But by the gods I swear
I will never adopt a lousy attitude like yours Steve. You
got yours hmm? I hope one day you don't and my words

Me too, i almost exclusively drink mineral water or natural
juices. But I'm not some kind of hippy idealist, no. I just
find these things to be tasty, compared to soft drinks/
spirits that I've tasted that's all.

I can relate to Steve's attitude to an extent: he's
basically being nihilistic but not to its final conclusion.
He values his comfort and the fact that his comfort equals
coca-cola is not really my cup of tea.... Then again, it's
his choice...

Ever been to Turkey? Most the drinks there are pure juices
in tins. Thay just wont drink cola and if you make a turkish

Quite fun.

No, I haven't been to Turkey, but my brother is currently
there on his holidays so I'll ask him about coke when he
gets back. I am really happy that they hate the thing. I
mean, coke is really a global phenomenon in its own right.
There's this famous slovenian philosopher Slavoj Zizek, he
made an essay on coca-cola recently where he says that
coca-cola demonstrates the victory of marketing and form
over use and content: it's not healthy, it only makes you
more thristy and the only thing useful in it is sugar. THEN
you get diet coke, which is sugar-free and you really begin
to wonder, why the hell are you drinking this stuff??? I
guess it's the same thing with cigarettes: just the pressure
of marketing/ tradition.
