I don't believe that Osama bin Laden supported the WTC attack just because he thought they were a bunch of infidels. This was an attack of pure revenge in the "eye for an eye" tradition(one that I do not agree with). It is a direct result of the bombings on Iraq and the support for Israel in oppressing Palastina. If it goes on like this, and it certainly appears so, expect another attack just like it or maybe worse. And I feel sorry about all the people who are killed and oppressed for a reason they didn't have anything to do with no matter what location they're in. I'm angry at the whole "oh I don't care" attitude. Hello, we're talking about lives here, not just "theirs" but "yours" as well |

tekno: that is quite simplified and naive. Iraq sanctions effectivelly killed tens of thousands of children. It was not a mistake, or a collateral damage but a calculated effect. They killed many afghan civillians in bombings even though they were trying to help them out. Hell, I posted this 10 times so far, but here it is again: back in 1999 when NATO was thrashing Yugoslavia, to protect albanian civillians who were terrorized by serbs (my nation), american f-16 burned a whole convoy of albanian refugees (women/ children/ elderly) because someone from the awax, 10 miles up in the sky told him it's a serbian army convoy with tanks and trucks. "But these are just agricultural machines with children on them" he kept protesting, but he had an order to follow, so 80 of them were turned into charcoal. Now, a system that actually allows for this kind of mistake is not merely "ignorant", it's activelly inefficient and therefore, to use your word "evil". |
