gaiman wrote all the scripts for "sandman"

also try the novel he wrote with Terry Pratchett - "good
omens". its hilarious AND dark.

when you've read that :), read the other graphic novels he's
written scripts for - especially the ones drawn by Dave
McKean - they're spectacular and very intelligently written
("violent cases", "mr.punch" and especially recommended:
"signal to noise")

this is a delicious book but i never found it all that
scary. i'm sure it would be scary for a child, though.

I bought a Neil Gaiman book once. It had talking rats and
stuff... Wasn't really my thing, didn't finish it.

Never heard about it, but the Gaiman and McKean collabs are
always good, so I'll check it out. There is also a
Coraline-movie coming out, IMDB told me.

Was it about a young girl and another world/dimension?

I am huge Dave Mckean/Neil Gaiman fan, but the Mirror Mask
movie was absolute shit. With the exeption of Stardust, I
don't think that Gaimans' stuff translates well to film, the
made for TV stuff was like bad 80s' Dr Who. I know it wasn't
his script, but Constantine was a bad translation of a great
charictor. I hope that they never make a Sandman movie.

I had to look up the term "minge." It's a good one.

I liked The Sandman graphics novels and have American Gods
unread on my shelf. I didn't know he wrote Coraline, didn't
Tim Burton make a sort of shit claymation/puppet movie of
that?

more global adoption of the term

What is it about celebs sticking their willies where they
aren't wanted, is this a reflection of society at large,
does this go one as much in the general population, but it
never gets mentioned? am i'm sheltered and naïve?

hi hyperflake i can attempt to respond but it will be a hit
and run because I gotta start a long drive.

According to evolutionary psychology (my major!) every thing
males do is to stick their willies in something.

Now, I don't THINK gaiman was accused of rape? It was more
the idea that he abused his standing to have consensual sex?
Rape would be a different story.

Well according to the theory, the same way male animals grow
elaborate displays of feathers (peacocks and others) and
grow horns to fight over and impress females (they have ONE
egg to protect and we have a gagillion sperm to spread),
people make art and music really solely to display skill,
and that display of skill is entirely designed to impress
guarded females for fornication. The world's best chef makes
his dainty little shit scallop plate with a spoonful of food
and charges $600, but he's really showing his talent to
stick his "willy" in something.

A lot of it IS and WAS consensual, but there has been a
change of thinking, where some are saying this is an abuse
of power rather than basic human nature. Again, this doesn't
apply to actual rape, but ultimately is just someone
complaining about fucking 5 star chef out of regret months
later. Certainly Gaiman and these chefs are gonna drop em
like a sack of shit in the end, on to the next floosie.

interestingly, many colleges dropped "evolutionary
psychology" as a class or major specification in the last
decade, because it wasn't in line enough with modern
thinking. I was lucky to get good lectures on it before that
happened.

also this same theory explains why men are more competitive
and quite literally better at almost everything unrelated to
emotional support and child rearing, I'm sorry to say.

lastly: a quick wiki of Gaiman's alleged misconduct does
imply actual unwanted touching, so for him specifically I'm
inclined to just leave it to the courts. I'm in a place now
where I have general doubts about anything related to this
particular subject, but those are my own. I'll leave it to a
jury presented with evidence. Aight 3 hour drive LOCK ON.
Music queued: Alva Noto Xerrox 2, Tim Hecker Shards (new),

I remember being motivated by different things as a child
because I was completely unaware of any sexual drive, well
consciously anyway. Perhaps it is for the majority of men

yes he's been accused of (among other things) rapes, and a
civil suit for that has begun - apart from that, multiple
women have accused him of sexual assault against them.

thats the article I read the other month, he paid
off a woman in 2022 for being handsy, if he is indeed
innocent i hope he is exonerated, the multiple allegations
seem legit though

Apparently a quote from Gaiman: " "On a day like today it's
worth saying, I believe survivors. Men must not close our
eyes and minds to what happens to women in this world." -
hoisted by his own petard

evolutionary psychology is kooky shit, i'm sorry they got to
you at an impressionable age

anyway, predictable kneejerk reaction from men left
wondering if they've got any skeletons in their closets, but
let's have a look at the actual allegations, yeah?

Claire described non-consensual kissing and groping by
Gaiman after meeting him at a book tour event, with Gaiman
making a $60,000 payment to her in August 2022. A woman
identified as "K", who also first met Gaiman at a book
signing, said that during their relationship he subjected
her to painful sex that she "neither wanted nor enjoyed".

Scarlett Pavlovich, a former nanny for Gaiman and Palmer's
child, alleges that Gaiman sexually assaulted her within
hours of their first meeting in February 2022.

A former tenant of Gaiman's named Caroline Wallner alleges
that he demanded sexual favours in exchange for being
allowed to continue living on his property.

The writer Julia Hobsbawm accused Gaiman of "an aggressive,
unwanted pass" and described how Gaiman pushed her onto a
sofa and French kissed her in 1986.

sounds good to you?

There is only one suitable punishment, he must be burnt in a
giant wicker man constructed from his own literature, while
his accusers dance naked round the rising flames, taunting
him lasciviously as their pert breasts bounce up and down

one thing appears to be certain.
need for sex drives men crazy,
usually in a more violent way than women.
whats making things worse for women (amongst other things)
is that they usually suffer more from sexual aggression due
to their anatomy as the recipient.
some penetration scars may never heal in a way a woman can
enjoy sex after without being reminded of a horrible crime
done to them.

Just one word Dan intersectionality, repeat that

bend down on one knee, genuflect before her and beg her for
forgivness for your terrible ways!

I went back to college at like 25 so I must have still been
pretty impressionable. Your psychology is evolved just as
every other part of you and every other living thing is.
humans aren't anything special.

also trying to act like I didn't already CORRECT and state
Neil Gaiman's allegations is your usual utter strawman
bullshit that you always do, always in bad faith and you're
not worth arguing with ever.
