Anyone like this guy? I bought White Ladder last year, and still listen to it sometimes... I love his voice, and songs like Please Forgive Me, Babylon, White Ladder, and This Years Love are just beautiful... he also thanks Orbital in his thank-yous... :)

i keep getting "sail away with me honey" stuck in my head. Some really nice songs on that album.

and he made this album completely independantly... I get this picture in my head of him in his apartment just writing and singing away with no worries about what the record company people want, but just concerned with what he wanted... I mean it's gotta be absolutely true and honest to who he is... there are some nice lyrics on here... I love the lyrics to Babylon...

cool, i didnt know that.
It's good when artists/bands do that. the Foo Fighters did that with There is Nothing Left To Lose, and i think it's their best album so far. And its all done in Dave Grohl's basement, how i wish i cud have a recording studio in my basement - if i had one!

yeah, he was dropped from his label (for the second time) and he recorded this all in his apartment apparently... then Dave Matthews somehow heard him and signed him to his new label, and then David Gray took off...

He got over-played to death here, so any joy his music may have wrought has been stripped away by commercialism.
(I worked on a construction site for a few month's that had the radio on the same station every single day)

I think White Ladder is an excellent album and I like David Gray a lot. When I first heard that beat in "We're not Right" I couldn't believe it!

Yeah, David Gray is friends with Orbital. . . he does the vocals in Orbital's "Illuminate", which I think is the best vocal song Orbital have ever done.

I hate his songs. I hate his voice. I hate him. I hate the fact I've stood through an entire hour of his music, live.
I like the fact I yelled at him that he was a cunt.

his drummer looks like bagpuss, just less cute :-D
apart from that, DG is wholly uninteresting.

Yes, Clune (the drummer) is the only good thing about David Gray. He was incredibly amusing live, and almost made me not want to kill David.
