I was downloading Requiem for a Dream. Every time I find
someone with a decent connection that has a huge file,
Soulseek crashes. To spite me. The fucking program does it
to spite me.

But Nir is doing us all a service, I'm bitching, but not
REALLY bitching.

it might be time to take the service offline. I can't keep
up with all these technical problems, it's getting to the
point where it's beyond my control and I don't have enough
money to rent a decent server right now. I'll wait till I
can get a hold of arzenik (who runs the server right now),
and see if there can be any resolution to this. if there
isn't I'll put a shutdown notice on the webpage and wait for
better days.

I have a gun to my head, and I'm standing on the top of the
World Trade Center ready to fall off when I shoot myself,
just incase. And I'll land in a pool of acid I set down on
the sidewalk to make TRIPLE sure. And I took poison pills
that will kill me if I survive still THAT. Don't close down
Soulseek. :-(

Something's wrong with the above paragraph, free pizza to
whomever figures it out.

program go..... fuck, it'll be a complete bitch, but if nir
says he needs a job, fair enough. Fuck, I couldn't survive
without mine. =o/

Yes, what is wrong with Whale's opennap server?
Everytime I log in there I'm either the only one or it's
just me and the big fish (I know--it's not a fish). I'm
surprised I don't see more of you in there, especially when
Soulseek is down (and let me just say I really hope Nir
finds a way to keep it going).

To anyone who's already asked for an account on the opennap
server - if you've forgotten your password or lost the
instructions to log in, let me know and it will get sorted
out.

Looks like a few more of us need to move onto Inverted
Whales OpenNap server...it would work well if we all made
the effort & I'm sure that between us we've probably got a
great collection...

I'll see you on there tonight, IW...tried earlier but think
I need a bit of fiddling with my config...

Is it not possible to distribute the SoulSeek server code so
that other people can run SoulSeek servers to help out?

PS ....what World Trade Centre?

if youre not connected to the internet please connect and

Are you sure you've got the latest version and not the
pacthed version?....

Think it's 135B from soulseek.org...

Give that a try...

I had the same problem for about a month and it wouldn't go
pass that...even reinstalling didn't help...

In the end, I installed ZONEALARM (a firewall prog) &
somehow it started working again....doesn't make much sense
but I'm nor complaining as it got it working...

and yes its soulseek 135B.... i hate it when ot doesnt
work!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaargh!!!
