any thought on this? i have listened to most of it now, and am enjoying it greatly. the first track is acidy with sweeping pads on and these mad drill'n'bass fills - v. nice. the second track (the first part of the mp3 samples) is the best in my opinion. anyone else posess this yet - what d'you think? |

i haven't listened to all of my pt1 yet (i got them both at the same time), but pt2 sounds a bit less ambient and a bit harsher...still very cool and space-age though. an excellent ep. |

I played Astrobotnia part 1 to a david bowie-a-holic friend of mine and he loved it. He's got hundreds of rock CDs and I'm slowly getting him into the electronic world with regular lessons in Warp/Rephlex stuff. He doesn't like Venetian Snares at all though... |

Pt 2 is my favorite, from what I've heard of the rephlex extract. I'm still waiting on my fucking warpmart order, its been 3 days, hurry up! =) |

I had a deep listen session last night in the darknesss... pt 2 is one of the best records in my collection. totally awesome! they even left out the best track (a1) off the rephlex samples.... this just can't be a new actor on the scene. neitherless i wanna shake his/her/their hand(s). |

yay!!..just received Pt2...(along with a free AE LP5 Promo, cheers WARP)... And yeah, this is more my cup of tea that Pt1...still think Pt2 it sounds very very AFXish altho there arn't any clues on the sleeve or anywhere... Woofer: Just a Vinyl only release...the pics at Rephlex for Pt2 are the Vinyl itself & a sticker thats on the outside...Big Pity really as I'd love to have this on CD... But the fact that it's Vinyl only is kinda suspious I reckon...it is 2002 and vinyl-only releases are rarer than hens teeth so what gives?...maybe it's someone who's not allowed to release stuff to too wider an audience and this is a way around contractual obligations... ho hum...months of speculation and we still don't know for sure but with music this good, it doesn't really matter... |

Remeber when Joyrex announced on his site a long while ago that Aphex was going to release a EP with 6 tracks (almost direct after Drukqs) very soon....hmmmmmmmm he talked about a march date but it got delayed...mabe this EP is Aphex Twin material afterall, and I dont "give a flying phluck" what Grant says. Even if he tells us that it aint Aphex or Ovuca it can still be. (We will never know even if Ovuca tells us its his album we dont know for sure ;) |
