Here's that IP address I was trying to discover yesterday.
If you can't wait to get back into soulseek try this:

here's something you can do to get into soulseek right away:
run a find file in the folder where your windows is
installed for a file called "hosts". if you can't find that,
look for "lmhosts" instead. once you find it, open it in a
text editor and map www.soulseek.org to IP address
195.74.211.135. there should be textual instructions in the
file that explain how to map a domain to an IP address.
should be something along the lines of just adding a line
with the IP address then the domain:

195.74.211.135 www.soulseek.org

either way, we should get all this working in about 12
hours.

thanks, nir

something.zip (but it wasn't a Zip file), and I found the
Slsk file, and clicked on that, and it didn't fix anything.

Whoa, is that how you pay for the internet in Austrailia?
Billed by downloads and shit? I just pay by the month,
infinite time/bandwidth/whatever.

Just message people and explain to them that you can't
share.

my version of soulseek trys to connect, but then gives me a
"no connection aviable" error, and closes itself dwn...

before, there were no servers even on a new, and odd, server
select window, but now that window no longer exists, and
this crazyness befalls me.

I was slowly getting up someone's queue, and now I'm back to
44 hojillion (or whatever that number is).

curses.

since that kind of data is lost, maybe their usual approach
to a crash is flushing most of the DB?

another cute gripe--when someone's download speed and the

come in faster than posssiblleee
